Catholic missionaries converted the majority of the lowlanders to Christianity during Spanish control. They
established schools, a university, hospitals, and churches, among other things. The Spaniards built and
operated a network of military fortifications around the archipelago to protect their settlements.
The Philippines were administered by the Viceroyalty of New Spain, which was situated in Mexico. Following
that, Spain took direct control of the colony. With Spain's defeat in the Spanish–American War in 1898,
Spanish rule came to an end. Following then, the Philippines became a US territory.
Aside from his religious duties, the friar was also in charge of the colony's administration. He oversaw the
gobernadorcillo and cabeza elections. The friars also acted as peacemakers, putting down insurgencies. People
both believed and feared the friar because of his spiritual function.
Because Spain ruled the Philippines for such a long time, they had a huge influence on current Filipino culture.
Religion continues to have the greatest influence. In the Philippines, Roman Catholicism is still the most widely
practiced religion. 7

This song was written by Gloc-9 as a rallying cry for individuals in positions of authority. The ability to change
other people's life for the better. Such people who live behind those high walls, in a mansion, and ride in a
convoy. Those who have a position, a position that has been bestowed upon them by those who have placed
their trust in them. Being trusted is an honor, but they miss the point of being a leader: to guide the country
and enhance the lives of its citizens. Politics is one of society's most filthy games. As a result, many people are
dying. They are savagely fighting for power. A position that will allow them to be extremely powerful and do
anything they want. Corruption is a major issue in Philippine politics. Corruption predates our grandfathers
and continues to be a concern today. The poorest members of our society are among those who are most
affected by this situation.
