RATIONALE:

The Sangguniang Kabataan Council decided to provide an educational assistance to the college

The SK Educational Cash Assistance Program is likely to have a positive impact on academic performance by enabling students to acquire necessary tools and materials for their online studies. This access can lead to improved engagement and understanding of their lessons, which may translate into better academic outcomes. However, the actual impact would depend on how effectively the students use the cash assistance for their educational needs .

The primary method used to survey the college students' needs was social media. This method was chosen to avoid physical contact and the possibility of being infected with the Covid-19 virus .

The choice of cash assistance reflects an understanding of the diverse and variable needs of students which cannot be uniformly addressed by providing standardized educational materials. Cash offers flexibility and personalization, empowering students to prioritize their specific needs. However, it assumes responsible use of funds and may lead to inconsistent educational investments if not properly guided .

Challenges might include ensuring funds are used appropriately, reaching all eligible students effectively, and managing the distribution process. These could be addressed by implementing stringent monitoring mechanisms, ensuring transparent communication, and possibly providing guidance on the effective use of funds for educational purposes .

The SK Educational Cash Assistance Program aligns with the objectives of the Sangguniang Kabataan Council by aiming to ease the students' problems in attending online classes due to a lack of supplies. This program directly supports their objective to enhance learning by providing means for students to obtain necessary materials, thereby facilitating effective participation in their educational activities .

The decision to provide cash assistance instead of school supplies allows for flexibility and personalization, enabling students to purchase exactly what they need for their online classes. This can be particularly beneficial given the varied needs of students identified during the survey. However, drawbacks could include the potential misuse of funds and the challenge of ensuring that the money is spent on educational materials .

The effectiveness of the program could be measured through surveys assessing student satisfaction and educational needs fulfillment, tracking academic performance improvements, and evaluating the improved participation in online classes. Additionally, feedback from beneficiaries on the usefulness of the funds for their educational purposes can provide insights into the program's impact .

The SK Educational Cash Assistance Program aims to address specific challenges faced by college students by providing cash assistance of P1,500. This cash assistance is intended to help students purchase materials needed for their online classes, thereby easing their problems related to a lack of supplies .

The program reflects adaptability by shifting from providing school supplies to direct cash assistance. This recognizes the individual needs of students during the pandemic, allowing them the discretion to address personal educational challenges, such as acquiring the specific materials needed for online learning, including electronic devices or internet services .

The Sangguniang Kabataan Council is responsible for designing and approving the cash assistance program. They conducted surveys to understand student needs and administer the program. The Katipunan ng Kabataan college students are the beneficiaries of this program, receiving the financial aid meant to support their educational pursuits .
