’SIDES OF A COIN’
A short film by
Sam Frankum
And Oliver Delacruz
Synopsis
Two body’s share the same consciousness but are
unaware of it. They both live two separate lives one
being popular and the other being a known weirdo,
the idea is to show the viewers that everyone should
be treated equally. Having the same consciousness
causes them to cross paths and intertwine with each
other
Competition
We planned to enter our production into LSFF
(London short film festival) that is held on the
13th -22nd of January 2023.
We chose this one as it has little rules to what
you can enter in . The only rule it had was it has
to be under 45 mins.
Production
Platform it will be aired
We have aired the production
on YouTube as we felt that
that would be the best place
for everyone to see it as its
easily accessible by viewers
and easily uploaded by us too.
Target audience
we decided to put our age range at 16-
25 as because from our research we
could see sci-fi supernatural films and
as it shows are mainly watched by this
age range.
We chose this age range over 12-14 as
our focus group was with 16-18 years
olds and we thought that the 12-14
might find it hard to follow
Generating the idea
Started of by producing the basic point of
sharing a consciousness
We then started to expand on it by having
a purpose as to how they would find out
about it and have a story line; when one of
them dies and then the others day is cut
short and tries to prevent it happening.
How it was put together
We planned out how we wanted everything well
before hand with detailed storyboards and
script
We tried to get every shot we needed in one
location before we went to the next to avoid
anything going wrong in the editing, but we
could still improve on this.
How it adapted through out the process
We changed things like locations, clothing
and props to fit around the actors better
and filmed certain things at certain times
to fit around their schedules
