A very good morning, ladies and gentlemen, honorable outstanding speakers, fellow lecturers,
committee, and participants of this event. Before anything else, let us express our deepest
gratitude to the Almighty God Allah SWT who has given us mercy and blessing so we can be
virtually together in today’s event. Secondly, Shalawat and salam are praised to our Noble
Prophet Muhammad SAW peace be upon him, who has got us from the darkness to the
brightness, from stupidity era to the cleverness era, namely Islamic Religion.
Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to introduce myself. I am Meida Rabia Sihite. I am a
lecturer of the English Education Study Program, FKIP, Al Washliyah University of Medan. It is
such an honor for me to be the moderator of today’s event. I would like to welcome you all to
the International Webinar on Commemoration the Islamic New Year of 1443 Hijriah : The
Development of Islam in Various Countries. This event is needless to say to commemorate the
Islamic Ney Year of 1443 Hijriah. Furthermore, it is aimed at broadening insights on the
mentioned topic to benefit knowledge enthusiasts, priests, and Moslem intellectuals.
This event is greatly initiated by Bapak Dr. H. M. Jamil, MA., the Rector of UNIVA Medan, who
has successfully invited scholars from several countries to discuss important issues about the
development of Islam in Egypt, Australia, and Brunei Darussalam. On this occasion, I’d like to
thank everybody here for taking time to attend our remarkable webinar. For the convenience
during the webinar, we urge everybody to keep the microphone muted and attending the
program with camera open is appreciated. In this event, please allow me to use a mixed
language of English and Bahasa Indonesia. Hopefully, you will have a great session ahead.
