Activity:
- Students will perform both underhand and overhand serve
skills with a partner. Instruct students that one pair at a
time will start the serve from opposite side of the net. One
student in the pair will begin as the “server” who is
performing the skill, while the other student is the
“receiver/coach” who is receiving the ball with a bump.
- Students will alternately switch roles and attempt to
maximize their practice time during this activity.
Send students to grab a ball and go to their respective
practice stations. Instruct students to keep their ball with
them for the duration of the activity.
- As students practice their skills the instructor will be
walking around giving positive specific feedback to correct
some of their errors that they can focus on. Also, the
instructor will use music as a cue for when to stop practicing
and listen for new instruction.
