ABSTRACT

This report presents the experience and skills gained during my 2 weeks of industrial
training undertaken at SNEH engineering solution.

My training was on the use of SOLIDWORKS (3d modeling software) for drawing and
designing of engineering products during the period, I acquired brief knowledge and
skills in using engineering software.

I did lots of 2d sketches and 3d models of engineering components which given by

industry, also I was able to gain brief knowledge about engineering drawing and it`s
complicated dimensions and tolerances.

This report discusses the Skills gained and Experience gathered during the period of
training, justifying the relevance of the scheme in equipping students with needed
technical competence to thrive in the real world.

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 - Background
Internship program has become the bridge for those who want to enter to corporate level
from the college life, through internship I got to know the real working environment that
was very much different from my course study. During my internship, I got a chance to
work in the company which does engineering solution relates to design and drawing
generation as well as product development and documentation. The term I spent there, I
learned a lot about how to make 3d models and sketches of industrial components through
assignments. All my experience helped me realize parts like grouping work, work
environment, peering support, carried out in the organization. Thus, the internship
duration provided me with the opportunity to broaden my knowledge, acknowledge my
strengths/weakness that would be more helpful to shape up my career in the future.

1.2 - Objective of Internship

As partial fulfillment of the requirements of the summer internship program of Gujarat
technological university, I had to work under SNEH engineering solution for two weeks
internship program. The primary objective of the internship is to get brief knowledge
about engineering drawing and design as well as it`s uses in 3d modeling software –
SOLIDWORKS. This would help me to give a way towards growth in my academic as
well as personal development. Apart from general objectives, the specific objectives are
highlighted below:

 To acquire exposure in the working environment resulting in the development of

practical knowledge, confidence and diplomacy.
 To generate a thorough understanding of the workplace relationship, performing
of the activities and engaging oneself in the working environment
 To get practical implication of all the studies, theories that I had acquired so far.
 To learn and apply theoretical knowledge practically in the workplace.
 To develop interpersonal, managerial and communication skills.
 To come up with the possible strategies to gain competitive advantage.
 To be a valuable asset for the organization by contributing positive aspects.

CONCLUSION
On the whole, this internship was a useful experience. I have gained new knowledge, skill
and met many new people. I achieved several of my learning goals. I got into professional
practice. I learned different engineering drawing of industrial component, and how to
make sketches and 3d models from it. There is still a lot to discover and to improve.

The internship is also good to find out what my strength and weakness are. This helped
me a lot to what skill and knowledge I have to improve further. It helped me to present
and express myself more confidently.

At last internship has given me a new rights and motivation to pursue a carrier in
industrial background.

Understanding engineering drawings and dimensions is critical in mechanical engineering because it ensures precision in the development and manufacturing of engineering products. These skills allow engineers to accurately interpret complex designs and implement them effectively. The internship report highlights the significance by stating that the intern gained knowledge about complicated dimensions and tolerances, which are essential for ensuring that components fit and function correctly in assembly processes. Mastery of these concepts is fundamental to producing viable and efficient engineering solutions .

The skills gained during the internship, such as proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, understanding engineering drawings, and developing 3D models, align closely with the evolving needs of the engineering industry. These competencies are critical as the industry increasingly relies on digital tools and precise engineering for product development and innovation. The report underscores the importance of these skills in meeting industry standards for accuracy and efficiency, enabling students to contribute effectively to their future employers' competitive advantages and innovative projects .

Internship programs play a crucial role in facilitating the transition from academic studies to professional practice by providing students with hands-on experience in a real-world environment. As highlighted in the report, these programs offer opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge practically, gain exposure to workplace dynamics, and develop professional skills, such as understanding engineering software, project management, and communication. This practical exposure not only reinforces students' academic learning but also prepares them for the expectations and challenges of the professional world, making them more adaptable and workforce-ready .

SOLIDWORKS serves as a critical tool in engineering education, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Its relevance is emphasized in the internship report through its use for creating 2D sketches and 3D models of engineering components. This software helps students understand complex engineering drawings and dimensions, preparing them for real-world applications where precision and accuracy are paramount. Furthermore, the hands-on experience with SOLIDWORKS equips students with technical competencies that enhance their employability in the engineering field .

Internships contribute to the personal growth of students by building their confidence, enhancing their communication skills, and teaching them to express their ideas effectively. The report indicates that through practical work, students learn to manage responsibilities, tackle real-world challenges, and identify their strengths and weaknesses. This self-awareness and adaptability foster personal development, motivating students to improve continuously and pursue their career goals with greater determination and clarity .

An internship at SNEH Engineering Solution provides engineering students with exposure to a professional working environment, expanding their practical knowledge and technical skills, particularly in engineering drawing and design using SOLIDWORKS.
