 Count the dots on each cube. Then add up these 2 numbers.

C. PRESENTATION

 The teacher will teach the students the strategy of crossing out when
subtracting.

Subtraction is when you take away objects from a group and then count
how many are left.
Is read as minus. It means subtract.
The minuend is defined as the number from which another number is to be
subtracted. 
The subtrahend is the number that will be subtracted from another.
The difference is defined as the result of subtracting the subtrahend from the
minuend. In other words, it is the answer or the solution to a subtraction
problem.

There are 7 bananas.


3 of them were ate.
How many bananas are left?
7- 3 = 4 bananas are left.

I have 9 apples.
I eat 6.
How many apples are left?
9 – 6 = 3 apples are left.

4 – 3 = 1 fish left

Lina has 5 tomatoes.

m (for minuend) - me first, it comes first in the problem
