 INTRODUCTION

WHY DO I NEED TO INSTALL A NEW VERSION OF UNITY?

Our code-loving overlords have recreated the game from the ground up to deliver more
of the old, crazy (and sometimes weird) Paradise Paintball goodness. Now it’s in a slick
new package with a crazy amount of new ways to issue huge takedown on your enemies.

In order for the player to be able to harness this power and enjoy CMUNE’s all-new Para-
dise Paintball 4.0, a simple installation of the latest version of the Unity webplayer is re-
quired. Don’t worry if you aren’t good with computers; we’ll guide Mac and PC users step
by step through the process to get you up and splatting fast!

HOW DO I INSTALL A NEW VERSION OF UNITY?

a) Download the appropriate file for your Operating System.

PC Download (.exe)

Mac Download (.dmg)

WARNING
DO NOT CHOOSE ‘RUN’ IN THE DOWNLOAD POPUP THAT APPEARS.
If you choose to ‘run’ the file from the download, the Unity Webplayer installation will fail.
The installer / download must be saved to your computer.

b) Run the installer by double clicking on it, and follow the prompts.

c) Congratulations. You have installed the latest version of the Unity Webplayer. You now
should be able to go to [Link] and play PP 4.0.

d) If you experience errors with the Webplayer, or you see a blank screen with the PP logo,
you need to follow the troubleshooting directions on the following pages.

MAC OS X USERS

1. Close all web browsers

2. Delete /Users/YOURNAME/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Unity Web [Link]

(where YOURNAME is your user name)

a) To find the file, OPEN MacintoshHD (or the name of the HDD where OSX is installed)

OPEN Users

b) OPEN «name» Where «name» is your username (in the example, it is ‘Simon’)

c) OPEN Library

d) OPEN Internet Plug-ins

e) FIND Unity Web [Link], and DELETE it.

If there are multiple versions of the Unity Web [Link], delete all of them

If there are no versions of the Unity Web [Link], you do not need to do anything
and can skip to the next step

3. Delete /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Unity Web [Link]

a) To find the file, OPEN MacintoshHD (or the name of the HDD where OSX is installed)

b) OPEN Library

c) OPEN Internet Plug-ins

d) FIND Unity Web [Link], and DELETE it.

If there are multiple versions of the Unity Web [Link], delete all of them

If there are no versions of the Unity Web [Link], you do not need to do anything
and can skip to the next step

4. Install [Link]
Simply follow the prompts in the installer

5. You’ve just removed all Unity webplayers and made a fresh install of the latest
(RC1) version.

6. You should now be able to go and Play PP 4.0

If you still experience difficulties, please upgrade to Safari 5. Some users have re-
ported this to solve issues.

WINDOWS VISTA AND 7

1. Uninstall the Unity webplayer

Click “Start” to bring up the Start Menu, then click “Control Panel”

Click “Uninstall a Program” under the sub heading Programs

Uninstall the Unity webplayer by selecting its entry, and clicking Uninstall

2. Downgrade from IE 8 to IE 7 (if IE 8 is installed)

Go to the top-left corner of the same window, and click “View Installed Updates”

Uninstall Internet Explorer 8. IE will automatically revert back to IE7.

3. Install [Link]

Simply follow the prompts of the installer

4. You’ve just removed all Unity Web Players and made a fresh install of the latest
(RC1) version.

You can now go and Play Paradise Paintball 4.

5. You can now reinstall IE 8, if you so choose

If you still experience difficulties , please try using Google Chrome.

WINDOWS XP

1. Uninstall the Unity webplayer

Click “Start” to bring up the Start Menu, then click “Control Panel”

Click “Add or Remove Programs” - it doesn’t matter if you are in the standard or classic
view.

Uninstall the Unity Web Player by selecting its entry, and clicking Remove

2. Downgrade from IE 8 to IE 7 (if IE 8 is installed)

Go to the top of the same window, and click “View Installed Updates”

If you have followed the steps for installing the Unity Web Player, yet you are still experi-
encing problems playing the game, the issue may be with an outdated graphics driver

HOW TO FIND YOUR GRAPHICS CARD

MAC OSX

1. Go on the apple on the left upper corner,

2. click “about this mac”,

3. click “more info”

4. Under the heading “Hardware” , find and click on “Graphics / Displays”

The chipset model is your graphics card.

Example - Chipset Model: GeForce 8600M GT

WINDOWS
Go to My Computer/System properties/Device Manager/Display Adapters.

1. Go to Start

2. Right Click on My Computer

3. Click the hardware tab

4. Click device manager

5. Double Click display adapter

UPDATING GRAPHIC CARD DRIVERS

Now armed with the name of the graphics card in your computer, go to the relevant man-
ufacturers site and download the correct driver for your graphics card.
