Summary :

Celebrating National Children’s Month 2021 through sharing our love to them. We had
an outreach program that takes place in Barangay Kamagayan, our adopted community.
Giving them school supplies, food and, we prepared some games to make them enjoy the
program. We are amazed that a lot of children attended, and we never expected the
number of children that would be present that day. Overall, we had successfully managed to
practice social distancing through the whole event, and we successfully bring joy to the
children in Kamagayan. Even if it is a risky thing to do, we managed to make the event
happen and as long as we are safe and following the health protocols, we can make the
children feel loved and let them know that they are important.

My Learning:

Being able to join the outreach program as the community extension of our school
makes my heart flutter. Being with them teaches me a lot, through our simple surprise for
them the appreciation they showed to us is beyond. As a student, I learned through this
program is being grateful each day even if there are no special occasions to celebrate, still
we can make each day as special as we would like, be content with what we have, and give
gratitude to everyone. For me, every day is children’s day. I believe that every child has
the right to be themselves. Back then we are also like them, trying to figure out what could
be ahead of us and yet here we are looking at ourselves, wondering how far we’ve come.
Seeing the faces of the children reminds me of my childhood and as far as I love them, I
want them to see within us that they are capable of what they are, and we are here to
support them every step of the way. I’ll forever cherish every moment I had in the
program. Sharing them our blessings with full of love and sincerity. My first outreach
program in our school was a blast and unforgettable.
