1.

Rank the top three media (Paper, Printing Press, Telephone, Radio, Television,
Social Media) which made biggest impact in the world and compare why.
Rank 1: Social Media
As the world continues to evolve, so will the social media, which have a huge influence in
the world. It is one of the most effective instruments that can be used by netizens to collect
or distribute local foreign data. The birth of new technologies along with social media made
our lives easier. It is the combination of all the mediums of communication and information
with added updated applications for us to use. For both positive and negative ways, social
media may have a lot of impact on culture. It offers individuals a way to keep in contact
with individuals who live far away. It lets people share content that is enjoyable, interesting
and insightful. This offers companies a way to communicate with consumers. Social media
ultimately has a significant impact on our ability to connect, shape relationships, access and
disseminate information, and to make the right choice. Social media ultimately has a
significant impact on our ability to connect, shape relationships, access and disseminate
information, and to make the right choice. Social networking sites are perhaps the most
popular tool for social media. All common names to most of the society are Facebook,
Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, etc., active or not active users of social media. Nearly everyone
has a Facebook account from the ages of 13 to 64. To connect people worldwide, these
social networking sites can be used. News and journalism have had an impact on social
media. Since the internet is now the quickest and fastest way to get news, there is a decline
in print media and newspapers are forced to publish their articles online. For social media,
the possibilities are seemingly infinite. For individuals, it is rare to go a day without using
or referring to social media. Social media is here to stay and will continue to influence our
culture, whether it is used for networking, learning, or decision making.
Rank 2: Television
The introduction of television had a huge impact in humanities. Indeed, it is hard to
imagine and to trust information what radio broadcast have told us not seeing it with our
own eyes. Thus, the success of radio was disrupted by the birth of television. Radio was
able to provide audio descriptions of things like art, or transmit music, but television added
the very important visual element. Now audience did not just get description of things, they
got to see first-hand performances of dance, drama, news broadcast, news reporting and
visual tours of other countries. Television allowed us to enter the wider world and what’s
in it from the comfort of our living rooms or homes. Television became one of the best
platforms for education. Television contributes to our education and knowledge as many
learning shows has emerged for kids to expand their knowledge and skills. It became more
entertaining for audience to spend our free time. This has affected the way people think
about such critical social problems as race, gender, and class. It played an important role in
the political issues, particularly in shaping national elections campaign. Lastly, television
helped to spread different cultures around the world.
Rank 3: Radio
Radio is the first media that has a huge impact not only in one specific country but in whole
wide world. The release of radio had a profound impact in many aspects of society and
culture, particularly on humanities. Radio is a one-way communication referred to as a
broadcast that it is intended for a large audience. According to my Aunt, radio is their first
source of information back then. Radio is their primary source of news and information
about what is happening in the Philippines. Radio delivers different information such as
updates about natural disasters, weather, political issues, economic issues and what was
happening to our society. Radio also serves to be as the lifeblood of emergency
communication. When natural disasters occur and our electric power is interrupted radio
is the most reliable way to find out exactly what had happened in one certain place. In
addition to this, radio is a source of entertainment also. Radio broadcast gets more
audiences when they started to broadcast music, new stories and radio dramas that
telegraph and telephone cannot offer. It is one of the most important things that have
helped us to shape an understanding of the world around us.

2. How did media influence you? What media content (story, series, songs,
movie, poem, etc.) made a huge impact on your life, your views and opinions?
Gove one example and elaborate.
In my life, the media has a significant influence. It influences me in different aspects of my
life. On how I see things and find a solution to my problem, on how my perspective in one
certain issue changes time by time. As a student, growing with the fast progress of media
from then up to now really affects me. Back then I used to sit on the sofa all day long just to
watch tv because I do not have any gadget yet. And I witnessed the quick progress of
technology. The media content the influences me the most is the motivational speakers on
YouTube. I remember myself watching Ted Talks on YouTube. I discover that channel when
I was grade 8 but I only get the chance to watch it in the computer laboratory at school
since YouTube is restricted at home. I met so many motivational speakers and they
completely change my perspective in life especially about striving my dreams and how I
will face my problems. The speakers are usually the struggled people and who continue to
fight for their lives and dreams. They taught me to be brave in everything, they taught me
to let go my insecurities in life, how to seek opportunities, and how to gain confidence.
They taught me to always walk with my chin up bringing all the positivity and lessons I
learned throughout the process of discovering my own self. I always look up to them that I
want to give inspiration to others too. And that is how the media influenced me.
