Pre-writing stage is the first stage in writing
process where the writer composes or
supplies information pertaining to the
following:

➢Purpose of the paper


➢Choice of topic
➢Gathering information
Pre-writing Techniques
Keep a writer’s journal by recording personal
experiences, perceptions, and ideas.
 Do free writing.
Cluster by drawing lines and circles to show connection
between ideas.
Ask questions (5W’s and 1H).
Read with focus.
Listen with focus.
Observe by noticing details around you through the
senses
Imagine. Use “what if” approach.
Writing stage is the part where we begin
to write our first draft.
Do’s and Don’ts of writing a first draft:
Do not overanalyze your writing;
Feel free to follow the flow of ideas;
Do not exaggerate details;
Work on the details as much as possible to keep the
story fresh in your mind;
Do not worry yet about how good your writing is.
Have fun!
Re-writing stage is also known as the
