What I understand about this model…
As I understand, this model provides managers and strategists a greater comprehension of the
iterative approach in conducting real strategic management in the organizational setting. Also, this
model illustrates the activities involved in the three stages of strategic management—the strategy
formulation, strategy implementation, and strategy evaluation. As I read, I noticed that the entire
process begins with the development of a vision and mission statement, then moves on to the term
objectives; generation, evaluation and selection of strategies; implementation of those strategies;
and measurement and evaluation of performance. Internal and external audits, on the other hand,
are conducted first before formulating long-term goals. In addition, the last step, which is the
assessment and measurement of performance, which incorporates the whole process.
Measurement, to put it another way. And not just at the final stage, but at all of those stages as
well.
