Underground Tank Distance Regulations

Underground fuel tanks and above ground fills must have center lines located more than 4.25 meters away from any site boundary or building openings to ensure safety. Vent pipes for tanks should also be located in open areas with center lines over 3 meters from boundaries or building openings, and away from electrical equipment.

The centre line of any delivery connection, manhole chamber or oth-er opening into an underground

tank must be located more than 4,25m away from any site boundary or from any door or low level
window opening.

All above ground offset fills should be sited so that each fill pipe cen-tre line is located more than 4,25 m
away from any site boundary or from any door or low level window opening in any retail outlet build-ing
or kiosk.

Tank vent pipes should be located in the open such that the centre line through the vertical vent pipe
opening is more than 3 m away from any site boundary, or from any opening within an occupied
building, and electrically driven equipment.
