Notebook Computer Overview and Features

Notebook computers are a smaller, more portable version of desktop computers. While smaller in size, notebook screens are relatively large and allow clear viewing of images. Notebooks are easy to carry and come with built-in keyboards and optical drives. However, notebooks tend to be more expensive than desktops with similar specs due to their smaller hardware components. Notebook batteries also typically only last 2-3 hours and notebooks face greater risks of physical damage or theft due to their portability. Gaming laptops are designed for speed and advanced graphics but are bulky, expensive, and have batteries that do not last as long when performing intensive tasks. Their components also cannot be upgraded, requiring purchase of a new laptop when new games are released.

Notebook Computer

So basically, notebooks is a smaller version of a desktop computers and it is very similar to

dektop computer in terms of functioning.
Advatanges
Speed. So the speed of notebook is more than enough to process videos, graphic designs or
other intense tasks. It can also run two or more application without affecting its performance.
Screensize. Although they are physically smaller in size, their screen size is relatively large.
All the details of the images can be seen clearly in the way of a desktop monitor.
Portability. Since notebook are small and compact it makes them easy to carry or place
anywhere like a briefcase or handbag
Optical drive. It is already equipped with optical drive to read and write both CD and DVD
so user are free from the task of purchasing and external optical drive
Keyboard. The built-in keyboard is very user friendly when it comes to typing because the
keys are placed in a way that all finges will be able to reach them conveniently.

Disadvantages
Cost. Compared to a regular desktop computer with the same specs, a notebook computer
tends to be expensive. This is because, all the hardware components inside a notebook
computer is reduced in size making them costly to develop.
Security. Using a notebook computer poses various security risks. Most often due to its size,
a notebook computer is targeted to identity theft.
Battery life. Most notebook computers on default comes with a 6 cell battery. Usually they
cannot last longer for more than 2-3 hours. Especially, in essence when it is performing
power intense tasks such as playing games or graphic designing.
Weight. Even though a notebook computer is much smaller in size, its weight makes it
typically hard to carry. It heavier than both tablet and a netbook computer
Physical damages. Generally due to their portability, notebook computers are with greater
tendency of physical damages. Any mishaps can cause damages to both internal and external
components.

GAMING LAPTOP
Advantages.
Portability. It is much easy to hold and carry at other places in terms of portability but this is
not true in the case of weight.
Speed. Gaming Laptops are designed in such a way that it holds the fastest operating system,
high graphics, and other advanced features because the main purpose to build the laptops is
for gaming
Less power consumption. Since the battery life of gaming laptop is more long lasting than
any other laptop.
Disadvantage
Upgradation is not available. Gaming Laptops are non-upgraded systems. Many games will
come and go and each game needs a different version of Hardware and Software. If you want
to use the latest features then you must again purchase the new Laptop and your cost of old
Laptop will totally waste.
Cost. Gaming Laptops are much expensive than normal laptops. It contains many new and
advanced features and due to this reason, the cost of these types of the laptop is pretty high.
Bulky and weight. Sometimes it is not much easy to carry because of its weight. Compared
to normal laptops, gaming laptops weigh a bit more.

Common questions

Notebook computers typically come with a 6-cell battery that lasts only 2-3 hours when performing power-intensive tasks such as gaming or graphic designing . In contrast, gaming laptops are designed to consume less power and thus have a longer battery life compared to other laptops, making this a notable advantage for them .

Notebook computers are noted for their portability because they are small and easy to carry in a briefcase or handbag, although they are heavier than tablets and netbooks . They also offer sufficient speed for various applications. Gaming laptops also prioritize high speed, featuring a fast operating system and high graphics suitable for gaming . However, their portability is compromised by their bulkier weight compared to normal laptops .

Notebook computers offer speeds sufficient for tasks like video processing and graphic design, with a cost generally higher than desktop computers with similar specs due to the miniaturization of hardware . Gaming laptops, designed for high-speed performance and advanced features like high graphics, are more expensive than normal laptops, with costs driven by their advanced capabilities . Both types are costly, but gaming laptops demand a premium for their specialized hardware aimed at gaming .

Notebook computers are equipped with an optical drive capable of reading and writing both CDs and DVDs . This feature is advantageous because it frees users from the need to purchase an external optical drive, providing convenience and saving additional costs .

The cost of notebook computers, being higher than desktop computers with similar specifications due to the miniaturized hardware, may deter price-sensitive consumers . Additionally, although they are smaller in size, their weight is heavier than both tablets and netbooks, which could reduce their appeal for those prioritizing lightweight portability . These factors might lead consumers to consider alternatives unless they specifically need the features unique to notebooks.

One of the main challenges with gaming laptops is that they are non-upgradable. As new games requiring different hardware and software specifications are developed, users of gaming laptops cannot upgrade their existing systems to meet these requirements. Thus, to utilize newer features and capabilities, users must purchase a new laptop, rendering their old device's cost wasteful and impacting the longevity of their investment .

The reduction in hardware size in notebook computers contributes to their high cost. As hardware components are miniaturized to fit into the compact chassis of notebooks, developing these smaller components becomes expensive, which increases the overall cost of the notebook compared to similarly specced desktop computers .

Notebook computers face security risks primarily due to their small size, which makes them easy targets for theft, potentially leading to identity theft . Their portability increases the likelihood of them being lost or stolen, thereby increasing the risk of unauthorized access to personal or sensitive data .

Notebook computers have relatively large screens despite their small physical size, allowing for clear image viewing similar to desktop monitors . The built-in keyboard is user-friendly, with keys arranged such that all fingers can conveniently reach them, enhancing typing efficiency and comfort .

Notebook computers are highly portable due to their small and compact size, making them easy to carry in items like briefcases or handbags . However, this same portability also makes them prone to physical damage, as being carried often increases the likelihood of mishaps that can lead to damage of both internal and external components .
