Alternative Scoring Methods – 1
*NO-AD (Scoring method) score in a game
.When the score reaches (40-40) deuce then one point will decide the game winner -
.The receiver(s) has the right to choose from which half of the court he will receive that point -
SHORT SET (Score in a set)*
.The first player/team wins 4 games with a set or a margin of 2 games over the opponent will win the set -
.When the score reaches 4 games all, a tie-break game shall be played -
MATCH TIE-BREAK (7 POINTS) *
when the score reaches 1set all at (3sets) or 2 sets all at (5sets) than one tie-break game will decide the match -
-.winner The first player/team wins 7 points with a margin of 2 points over the opponent will win the match
MATCH TIE-BREAK (10 POINTS)*
When the score reaches 1set all at (3sets) or 2 sets all at (5sets) than one tie-break game will decide the match -

2- A close line call was called out by the LU. The player who lost this point hit the ball
in full force towards the line umpire that the line umpire had to dive to avoid being hit.
The ball went over the LU head and into the stands. What would you do as the CU? (5
minutes to answer using bullet points).
– I will make sure that the line umpire is ok (no body was hit in the stands)
-Call the referee (telling that I stopped the match for possible default)
-Inform the players that the referee called to discuss that code
I will announce in public (ladies & gentlemen I am calling the referee to discuss this -
code violation)
Once the referee is arrived on court I will draw a clear picture with the details for what's happened to -
him and my determination

A t 4-2 in the 2nd set tie-break player asks for the trainer. What do you do? 3 -

Explain two different situations when replace Line Umpire4 -
LU doing couple blatantly bad calls during a game or a set -
If the line umpire speaking the same language of the players coach which is not -

-LU injured by service or winner shot (remove)
LU For Several Times & After Instructed By me still misses the right position and he -

8- Player A notifies you as the Chair Umpire that he/she wants to retire from their
match. Indicate at which event(s) a trainer is or is not required to see the player before
being allowed to retire
At Grand Slams-
The Player doesn't need to see the trainer before retiring from a match if it is a small court *
. with very few spectators but the trainer must evaluate him before leaving the tournament
. Show courts or TV courts the CU shall try to get the trainer to speak to the player *
.If the player insists to retire so the CU will allow his request & inform the referee
ATP Tournaments -
Player can retired without seeing the trainer
WTA Tournaments-
The Player Must see the trainer before being allowed to retire from WTA match if the trainer is
.not around the CU should wait for him
. In all other events the referee will be called to decide to call the trainer or not -
- In all events the trainer have to examine the player before leaving the tournament
otherwise the player will pay fined.

Explain the Medical Time Out (MTO) procedure changes at the WTA level -9
- The players has the rights for 6 MTO per year
- More than 6 times the player will start paying some money for the MTO received (depend
on the tournament level)
- The MTO for cramping shall be used before asking for change over or set brek treatment.
- If a player takes a change over treatment first she cannot receive a MTO for that injury.
- CU should know what the problem from the trainer in case of cramping just to advise different
trainer come out.

10- Describe the WTA coaching regulation in full (including the policy if during a
match being played under the extreme heat condition)
the player has the right to receive coaching on court during the match once per -
.every set on the change over or set break time

The coach should dress in a professional manner ( clean tennis attire) with no -

- One white badge umpire (End Of Week Referee)if the referee is leaving the tournament site
to cover the qualifying event on the following Pro week in the same country.
- Chair umpire is required for every MD match
B. Men’s $15,000
- One silver Badge Referee
- One Bronze Badge Chair umpire plus
- Two White Badge Chair umpires
- Chair Umpire is required for every final round qualifying & MD match.
- One Of the Designated Chair umpires will be the end of week referee as above.
D. Women’s $25,000
One silver Badge Referee -

When the extreme weather condition is in effect the PHCP and the referee will determine

In WTA the player can receive on court coaching for set break time (90sec) at the start or -

With the approval from the referee the player can receive MTO prior to leave the court
.or before the end of the 2nd set
Explain the Electronic review procedures (principles) 16 -
A request for an ER shall be made in a point ending shot or when -
.player/team stops playing the point during the rally
.returns are allowed but the player must immediately stop -
the request should be made in timely manner (without delay) -
in doubles the request for ER shall be made in either play stops or CU stops -

the original call or overrule will always stand if the E.R is unable for any -
