can share information and communicate from anywhere with an Internet connection.

An Internet Service Provider (ISP) is a company such as AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, or Bright House that

copper wire, and other forms to provide Internet access to its customers.

BRIEFLY EXPLAIN THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION:

(i) FTP ( File Transfer Protocol) :. The File Transfer Protocol is a standard communication protocol used
for the transfer of computer files from a server to a client on a computer network. FTP is built on a
client–server model architecture using separate control and data connections between the client and
the server.

(ii). TELNET;. is a network protocol that allows a user on one computer to log into another computer
that is part of the same network.

(iii). GOPHER:.  is an Internet application that allows you to browse many different kinds of resources by
looking at menus or listings of information available. Its function is easy to remember because of its
name: you use Gopher to "go fer" information that is on other computers all over the world.

(iv). WORLD WIDE WEB ( WWW): is an interconnected system of public webpages accessible through
the Internet. The Web is not the same as the Internet: the Web is one of many applications built on top
of the Internet.

DESCRIBE ANY FIVE MENU ASSOCIATED WITH A BROWSER:

(i). ARROW BUTTON ⬅️➡️: These two arrows navigate the browser back (the left arrow) to a previously
viewed webpage or forward (the right arrow) to more currently viewed webpages.

(ii). REFRESH BUTTON 🔄: This button reloads a webpage. Refreshing will update the information on a
webpage if it has changed.

(iii). NEW TAB BUTTON : Opens a new page in the same window when selected. This option allows for
many websites to be open but contained within one main window frame.

(iv). Address Bar: This text field on a browser that identifies the webpage currently being viewed in a
browser window.

(v). Menu Button: In Chrome, the menu is indicated by three vertical dots in the upper right corner of
the browser window (Edge uses three horizontal dots; Firefox uses three stacked horizontal lines). Once
the menu button is selected a dropdown menu will appear.
