Major Project Report GSM-e
ABSTRACT
Here, we are introducing a new energy meter “GSM-Energy meter (GSM-e)”, which
has communication capability through Global System for Mobile Communication. Our
project is very helpful for the electricity board. Here the board can receive customer’s
electricity reading at any time by SMS. The basic problems of electricity supply face by the
customers such as low voltage, High voltage and Power failure are made known to the
electricity board .In this way even distribution of electricity is uphold by the electricity board.
Now a day’s any customer can tamper the electricity meter which would leads to misuse of
electricity and probably steal electrical energy for his gain This would adversely affect the
rest of the customers. However trough the system this issue is eliminated , for the system at
once reports any changes made to the energy meter of that particular customer to the
electricity board .
Basically GSM –Energy meter inherits all the features of customary energy meter in
addition it has a communication interface to the electricity board .Through the
communication changes that occurs in the electricity voltage are reported to the board
