Steel components are precisely cut with laser and plasma cutters…resulting in great
part fit. Parts are robotically welded wherever possible for consistent, high-strength
structures.
Welded assemblies are bored in machining cells for highest accuracies in
component mounting such as engines, transmissions, and axles.
Welded assemblies are then chemically cleaned, primed with polyurethane, then
coated with high solids urethane paint…before assembly of other components.

Dump bodies can be equipped with liners to improve the dump body’s life
expectancy. Typical liners are steel and are welded into the dump body bed to
minimize damage from large and sharp rocks.
ADT’s can be factory-ordered less dump body and dump cylinders for installation of
approved after-market applications.

All dump bodies are ducted for optional dump body heater installations. Engine
exhaust is routed across the articulation joint with stainless steel flexible tubing to a
dump body frame connection. When the dump body is in transport position on the
frame, exhaust travels throughout the bottom and exits the dump body on the rear.
Customers in near freezing or colder conditions use dump body heaters to lessen
material accumulation in the dump body.

Each dump body and frame has factory-installed attaching points for an automatic
mechanical tailgate. The tailgate pivots near the top of the dump body and raises or
lowers with chains connected to the dump body’s frame.
Customers want tailgates to retain materials that may want to drop off the dump
body when going up inclines. Wet sloppy materials sometimes also require a
tailgate to retain the load.
The tailgate is offered by GR Manufacturing as an approved referral product thru
John Deere.

Each E-Series ADT has a self-storing dump body support. This device must be
used when the dump body is in the raised position for inspection or working on the
truck.

The E-Series front Adaptive Suspension Control System consists of:
• Strut Cylinders
• Accumulators
• A panhard link running from the right side to the axle to the left side of the
engine frame and
• A center-mounted frame that pivots near the rear of the engine frame.

The rear suspension enables the ADT to move over large changes of terrain. The
middle and rear axles use links from the frame to each axle on the top and bottom.
A Panhard Link runs from the right side of the frame to the left side of the axle on
both the mid and rear axle.

The hood and cab on the E-series articulated dump trucks are hinged so that
they can be tilted for easy access to the engine, hydraulic components, and
the transmission. No operating controls, hoses, or electrical connections
need to be disconnected in this procedure, which can be accomplished by
one person. The front grill, and fan doors hinge open for easy access to daily
maintenance checks.
Refer to the machine’s Operator’s Manual for the cab tilt procedure.

The locking bar on the left side of the truck should be used whenever working in the
articulation area, transporting the truck or raising the machine.
