COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is an introductory course that explores and teaches basic knowledge, skills and values in the positive use of technology (ICT) for teaching and learning. It shall
include ICT laws, policies and regulations, safety issues, media and technology in various content areas, learning theories and principles in the use and design of a variety of
learning lessons, teaching-learning experiences, creating a safe and secure learning environment, assessment tasks that utilize appropriate traditional and innovative
technologies, and reflection on the use of ICT to improve the teaching and learning process. Social, ethical and legal responsibility in the use of technology tools and resources

PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES (PILO): Based on CHED Memorandum Order No. 38 series 2017
The graduates of AB History have the ability to: (Common to all programs in all types of schools)
1. The ability to engage in lifelong learning and understanding of the need to keep abreast of the developments in the specific field of practice;
2. The ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino;
3. The ability to work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
4. A recognition of professional, social and ethical responsibility; and
5. An appreciation of “Filipino historical and cultural heritage” (based on RA 7722).

1. Describe what is educational technology in bigger perspective;
2. Reflect on the reasons why technology is used in education;
3. Describe and explain in simple terms the meaning of technology integration into the curriculum;
4. Interpret the technology integration matrix in Philippine setting;
5. Describe and explain in simple terms the different technology application tools available for the 21st century teacher;
6. Review and contextualize the barriers to technology integration for teaching and learning;
7. Contextualize the advantages of distance learning;
8. Evaluate, interpret or make conclusion on the current issues, trends and researches about educational technology;
9. Use technology to facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity; and
10. Recognize the importance of continued professional growth and leadership in achieving and maintaining expertise in the use of educational technology.
