ABSTRACT Researchers
This phenomenological study was investigated to discover and
comprehend the Lived Experiences of Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson in
the Municipality of Trento. Subsequently, this qualitative examination hopes
to pull out aspirations, insights and difficulties of the young leaders in the
municipality of Trento, Agusan del Sur specifically the Sangguniang
Kabataan Chairpersons. Related literature from previous studies were utilized
as one of the references. The phenomenological approach used ten participants
for in-depth interview. In analyzing the responses of the participants, results
showed that the most common lived experiences of the Sangguniang Kabataan
Chairpersons are having motivations for serving the youth, struggling in
dealing with the youth, experiencing difficulties in time management, their
responsibilities as a youth leader, and perceiving youth leadership as
challenge. Meanwhile, their coping mechanisms in managing their time are
having positive mindset, setting priorities and balancing their time, using
various strategies in dealing with challenging behavior of the youth, and
systematizing their tasks. On the other hand, insights and inspiration of them
are follows: being productive and responsible leader, being humble in their
services, giving tips and advices, and striving for a peaceful community. The
study concludes that the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons of the
Municipality of Trento are going through difficulties in balancing their time
in dealing with their duties and responsibilities as a youth leader.
