Informative advertising is when advertising is carried out in an informative manner.

The idea is
to give the ad the look of an official article to give it more credibility. Also, informative ads tend
to help generate a good reputation.

In some circumstances a business might be required to run informative advertising as part of

resolving a law suit. Tobacco companies are one of the more notable examples of this.

Alcohol producers have been running advertisements with the general message being don't drive
drunk.

Some unions and trade organisations have run informative advertisements to promote public
awareness of what they see as the value of their organization.

Governments agencies use this form of advertising. California State Highway Patrol ran a "click-
it or ticket" campaign explaining the risks involved in not using a seat belt.

It is often said that advertising is useful and very important in our world, especially in market
economy advertising is extremely important. However, in my opinion there are different opinion
about this subjects.
Firstly, advertising is an important element of marketing function. The aim of advertising is to
persuade consumers to buy some products. Without advertising sales would be poor and
costumers not interested in products.

But secondly, some people say that advertising makes us buy things we would have never
bought. And many people believe that advertising shows only advantages and it is not the

whole true. People want to see real life. Commercial advertisements on TV are a nuisance , since
they usually interrupt the film at the most exciting moment.

On the one hand people rather don't like watch serious advertising and when product is being
advertised over and over again, then they usually change TV canal. On the other hand
advertising is great fun. And even if it is a brainwash they make our towns, railway station,
airports, shops and magazines colorful and attractive. They are also an important source of
income for TV, radio and press.
Many advertisements contain a slogan or a short phrase to attract the consumer's attention.
Effective slogans are usually short, easy to remember and easy to repeat. Many manufactures of
sports goods often use sport personalities to help sell their product. For example Michael Jordan
one of the most graceful players is endorsement by NIKE. There are many advantageous of using
famous people in advertising although it is very expensive. Famous people are well known in
country or in the word and product become in such way more known because people want to
identify with them.

Advertising preys on our instincts and emotions. That is why are often about love, happy
families, little and sweet babies, home, health, and physical fitness. More complicated
advertising appeals to our reasons, for example: ‘Buy this mineral water because it contains
microelements vital for your health!’ .
Experts often use some tricks in advertising. For example: special words: new, better, tested,
recommended by an expert, miracle, just for you; offering discount: ‘buy this, we give you that
free’; deceit with numbers (something cost 9.99$, not 10.00$).

Finally, from my point of view it is important to remember that it is freedom so people can
choose and decide and advertisement can help them, sometimes make them fun, sometimes make
them said because they for example haven’t got any money, but every thing is for people so…

OLYMPIA - New television and radio ads launched this week remind Washington
residents of the risks of H1N1 flu and how to protect against the virus. The campaign focuses on
good health habits and the importance of vaccination.

The ads are part of the Washington Department of Health’s statewide H1N1 public education
campaign. The TV ad uses state-of-the- art technology to show what happens when a person
doesn’t cover their mouth and nose when they sneeze. The radio spots feature real state residents
talking about how they’ve been affected by this new flu.

The television ad, which portrays a slow-motion sneeze in reverse, uses a special high-speed Phantom
camera to graphically show how droplets transport germs through the air. The ad runs in reverse to
suggest that the spread of H1N1 can be reduced through prevention measures. Testimonial-style radio
ads feature Washington residents talking about their personal experiences with H1N1.

Promotes health

So clever are these methods of advertising and so successful are they in reaching great numbers of
people, that if reputable physicians would take lessons of them, they might conduct a health crusade
that would exterminate tuberculosis, diminish the use of alcohol and tobacco, and save thousands of
babies that die unnecessarily. The theory of patent-medicine advertising is sound. It emphasizes the joys
of health, the beauty of health, the earning power of health. It adapts its message to season, event, and
need. It offers testimonials of real persons cured. It is all-appealing, promising, convincing,—a fearful
menace to health when the remedies offered are dishonest, a universal opportunity for promoting
health if the cure is genuine.
Advantages to consumers:
The advertisement informs the consumer about qualities and price of goods and this makes purchasing
easy for the consumers. As the prices are already advertised, the consumers cannot be over charged. By
regular advertisement, the manufacturer can sell the goods directly to the consumers without
depending on middlemen this eliminates the middlemen's charges and profit. It means higher profit to
the manufacturer and lower prices to the consumers. It helps in improvement of the quality of the
goods. The consumers are attracted by the quality of the products that are advertised. If the consumers
are convinced that the quality is the same that is advertised, they continue buying. It helps the
consumer to save time. As the consumer has already been the consumer is not required to spend time in
getting the products. It raises the living standard of consumers. It provides knowledge about the new
designs of the commodities to consumers and thus consumers consume those commodities and
increase their living standard.

Advantages to society:
Advertisement increases employment opportunities in the society and indirectly. It provides
employment to many artists, writers and experts. It has educative value. It educates the public regarding
the uses and benefits of different products. It also helps the press. Every newspaper or journal caries a
large number of advertisements. Without advertising it would not have been possible for the press to
sell the papers and journals at a price at which they are sold today. It develops healthy competition and
healthy growth of business takes place.
