Statement of Purpose

“The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the
field and never score.”
This is the quotation I have read somewhere in my early stage of life as I am keen and
passionate reader since my childhood, and I have believed that these particular lines are not
just came across accidently. A revolution has happened in my mind ever sinc e I have read it
and I became more vigilant and determined towards my goals. I decided at that time that I
would pursue my further studies at abroad and will do a white-collar job which makes
difference in the society. Now I am pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, and I became
aware of the rapidly growing market of medicines. The need of regulations in this field is going
to increase with time, so I have chosen to do Master of science in regulatory affairs at your
esteemed university, as it will meet my childhood goal of doing study abroad and getting a
reputed job which will make significance to the respected field.
To begin with, the set-up of my mind towards the goals of life is very important to me because
it prevents the possibility of my natural, innate intelligence and skill to go in vain. The very
first achievement of mine was during my high-school, as I have scored very good grades in the
state’s board exam (SSC) and secured 1 st rank not only in my school but in my area also. Since
my childhood, not only me but my parents also have wished that I do my study from highly
reputed organisations as they provide good education and looks for overall development of a
person, so after I scored well in 10 th standard, I took admission in well-reputed school of my
city, named Shree Vidhyanagar High School. I have done my higher secondary school form
there and there also I have got good marks in board examination of 12 th std. and my score in
competitive exam named GUJCET was also very good so I was able to secure my admission
in a good university.
As I mentioned earlier, It is my dream to get educated from renowned institutions, thus after
my school, I was looking for getting admission at Nirma university, which is much famous and
reputed in my state and country. It has got NAAC A accreditation, and in particular Institute
of Pharmacy, from where I am pursing my bachelor’s degree is ranked at 19 th position among
the top Pharmacy institutes in my country. I have performed well at university also, by maintain
the balance between academics and extracurricular activities. To be mentioned it that even
though I have put much time and energy in academics, I have sustained my inclination towards
literature and my habit of reading books and novels. So, to conclude my journey I would like
to say that I have dreamed big and have working hard in order to achieve it.
For explaining my purpose of choosing your esteemed university and the master’s program
regarded to regulatory affairs, I would like to say that the long leaps of development in the field
of pharmacy and medicine made me amazed and yet the competition is rising and the market
is exploring globally like fire and smoke, the peak is yet to be achieved. This situation made
me realise that there will be great need of proper regulation in this field . Hence, I became
prompt for this program. My father is associated with pharma company because of his job so
by listening to his daily tales, I have become known of the situation of current market and the
need of proper interpretation of the rules which have been set by authority and need of ways to
keep up with the limitations of regulations. The interpretation and application of the laws and
validation of medical product is essential nowadays, as the competition is at ris e. Thus,
knowledge of jurisdictions is essential to maintain the quality of the product, to satisfy the
authorities and to preserve the patent regarding benefits. So, it seems to me that there will be
great need of professional who knows and understand the regulation, who have the knowledge
of drug administration authorities like FDA and Health Canada and their policies. Hence, I
have chosen this particular program for my master’s study because it seems to me that there
will be great need of it and I see myself suitable for this profession. It matches the expectations
and goals which I have set in my childhood.
Northeastern University is the well-known in my native country as well. Your university
provides a quality education which makes professionals for society not only workers and that
is my aim for life, to be a professional of my respective field. I am positive that by studying at
your university, I will get many benefits in regard to career, knowledge and personality as well.
Northeastern University is among the best university that are situated in Canada and it is the
only University that provides master of science in regulatory affairs which covers the vast area
including biopharmaceutical production, strategic marketing, sales, clinical research, food
safety and global regulations related to it. In addition to this the specialisation in a particular
field is also provided in form of concentration course. The additional facility of Co-op
opportunities is also provided at the Northeastern University. So, these are all the attractions
which manoeuvred me to choose your acclaimed university. In addition to that Canada is very
safe and have friendly environment towards the international students. This country provided
the value of invested money and high standard of living. I am hopeful that I can achieve my
dreams by getting admission at Northeastern University.
