URBAN CODES IN BUCARAMANGA 1940-1950.

Abstract: This article analyzes the conditions wich the city of Bucaramanga between
the year 1940 – 1950 achived for the fisrt time to regulate two codes in order to plan
the urban planning. Bucaramanga did not have serious rule of well- defined
boundaries for the construction of home or comercial premises, the use of roads and
pubkic space, the optimal implementation of aqueducts, as well as their zoning. In
the decade mentioned before, the first two urban codes werw observed in the city
the fisrt was the urban building code in 1940 and later 1945the urban planning
codes, those codes declared in the Bucaramanga council since at the time there was
no entity or institution in charge of urban planning.
