PROJECT PROPOSAL
BARANGAY-BASED SUPPLEMENTARY FEEDING
No Empty Stomach Left Behind: Addressing the issue of hunger that helps Filipino
children during pandemic through health and nutrition in Brgy. Curry, Lope de Vega,
Northern Samar

I. Introduction

The most common problem in every community is food most especially in

this time of pandemic. Majority of the Filipinos are suffering from hunger and
are even starving to death.
In an effort to reduce the occurrence of malnutrition in the barangay,
and help children obtain their most efficient way of living, we must introduce
development programs and enhancement activities.
Feeding Program is the most outreached solution one could offer in a
community. Basically, it is the best preparation for pre-school students in
public school so as to encourage healthy living through healthy eating.

II. Purpose

For the many underprivileged Filipino children, food isn’t a basic right
but a luxury that their families can’t afford. Most of them are hungry and
sickly, hence they cannot perform well in school. The main goal of this project
is to ensure good health, better education outcome and improve the social
equity in a cost-effective manner. The nutrition component shall provide food
with complete nutrients to the children. When children are well-nourished,
they can concentrate and comprehend well, causing a remarkable impact on
his/her school performance.
III. Project Description

This project is an initiative to work out on the problem of children

suffering from hunger in times of crisis by means of inviting and encouraging
an active participation from community leaders to get involved in the hunger
mitigation, and promoting the health and nutritional status of the children.
This activity will not only include feeding program but also teaching
children with good hygiene practices and safety health protocols to prevent the
spread of the virus
IV. Objectives
√ To improve the nutritional health of the children
√ To introduce good hygiene practices and safety health protocols
√ To formulate recommendations to improve the dietary management of
moderate malnutrition
√ To assist indigent children in their physical, mental and spiritual well being
that will allow them to perform efficiently in and out of the school

V. Methodology
Addressing malnutrition should go beyond nutrition month celebration. Everyone
should be able to get the nutrition they need to live healthy lives and fight
diseases. With the help of the community people through giving their time to
participate in this endeavor, Feeding Program can provide both educational and
health benefits to the most vulnerable children.

VI. Project Needs

For the success of the project, we need an amount for providing healthy foods to
the children. Some private individuals are willing to donate and extend help by
giving money and providing necessary tools for the realization of the said project.

VII. Timetable
This project will continue through the leadership of the active barangay captain
and the barangay counselors and this will be supported by the community people
for the attainment of the project’s objectives. Feeding program will be their
monthly activity to mitigate hunger and solve malnutrition in their barangay.
