Eurovision ESL Speaking Lesson Plan

This speaking lesson plan is for an intermediate to upper intermediate English class of adolescents. The lesson focuses on having a discussion about which language Turkey's Eurovision song should be in. Students will first answer questions to introduce the topic. They will then split into two groups based on their views to prepare arguments to support their positions. The groups will then have a respectful debate while the teacher monitors and makes notes without interrupting. Finally, students will write a paragraph at home reflecting on their ideas and if their opinions changed after the discussion.
