Mathematics in Technology

Based on article that I have read I truly understand what is the importance of mathematics in technology,
on how it provides dynamic opportunities to all students and teachers specially these days that online
class is a thing. It can enhance and help the learning process to everyone and make concepts by engaging
into interactive media. Mathematics in technology may also offer additional supports to address the needs
of all learners and create customized learning experiences. Here are some important ways that students
can benefit when we incorporate technology with math lesson instructions. First is math using technology
by Interactive visualization making the math more visual and making it more engaged to students
learning. By presenting all the mathematical concepts visually it greatly helps every students at all grade
levels. Technology provides additional opportunities for learners to see and interact with mathematical
concepts. Students can explore, look and make more discoveries. Nowadays games, simulations and
digital tools are known because most of the people can access it using their technology tools. Secondly, it
helps by personalizing math lessons using technology that can increased access to math and allows more
customized learning experience. Because no two learners are exactly alike, technology can provide
individual students with content and supports that are particularly helpful to their individual needs. Even
kids nowadays can view their lessons and tutorials using their media on their own device at the comfort of
their home.

Mathematics in Business/ Finance

Based on this article Mathematics play an important role to business or finance. It is important part for
managing the business because business deals with money and money encompasses everything in itself.
Business mathematics is used by commercial enterprises to record and manage their business operations.
Organizations like accounting, inventory management, marketing and financial analysis always requires a
calculation, measurements involved, high rates, salary computation and tax calculation this is why
mathematics in business is important. One of its importance is Production costs calculation in business it
is very important to estimate the costs that would be incurred in relation to the manufacturing such as the
cost of raw materials, machinery, rent, administrative expenses etc. to avoid unnecessary expenses that is
not in the calculation for expenses in a specific time or month. In addition to these basic expenses there
are other associated costs such as marketing, warehousing, interest and repayment of loans etc. It is also
important to maintain the stable expenses for this to avoid losses. Secondly, Price determination this task
is to price the products correctly so that it generates right amount of cash flows for future requirements of
the business this interaction is very broad, the price should be stable and not changing every time so it
will not affect the cash flow. Price discovery is the process of buyers and sellers. Third, Profit
Measurement these requires determining the net profit by subtracting the operating costs from the total
amount of sales/revenue during a period of time by this we can see how computation or math is being
used in business it is very essential in every business to have all of these for them to prosper and avoid
being in bankrupt situation. What also need is a proper handler to prioritize the needs to deduct all tax,
depreciation and discount expenses.

Explanation:
Based on the diagram shown it is clearly visible how English and math is being compared to each
one another. As we all know English is an international language used all over the world while the
Mathematics is the language of sciences but it is also a language used in everyday life. The importance of
language is it connects variety of people, language allows us to share our ideas, thoughts and ideas, but it
is different in mathematics because most people frequently have trouble understanding mathematics
ideas, not because the idea is not clear but because they are presented in different kind of language or
expressions. The language of mathematics is very easy to express as well as its thoughts by making it
PRECISE to be able to make very fine distinctions, CONCISE to be able to say thing briefly and
POWERFUL able to express complex thoughts with relative case. It is very easy to learn but it requires
effort. Every language has a word and when you combined it sentence is formed. As per my
understanding nouns of mathematics is used to name mathematical object of interest while the
mathematics sentence is state the complete mathematical thoughts. While in English nouns are used to
identify any of people, places or things, while the sentence is used to state a complete thought. A typical
English sentence has at least one noun, and at least one verb.
For example, the sentence is
“Via loves to play with her dog”
Here, ‘Via’ ‘play’ and ‘dog’ are nouns and ‘loves’ is a verb. Here we can see how easy we can
determine if it is an english language because all terms are very specific not like in math. Mathematical
version of a ‘noun’ is called an expression. Expression is a name given to a mathematical object of
interest. In English we tend to talk about people, places, and things, in mathematics we see how much
different it is.
The mathematical version of a ‘sentence’ will also be called a sentence. A mathematical sentence,
is just like an English sentence, it must state a complete thought. The mathematical expression is
composed of sets {3,2,1,} a number, a matrix or a function.
For example give at least 5 primary numbers (2,3,5,7,11)
but if we make it a mathematical sentence it can be (2+3+5+7+11=28).
The only clear difference between the English and Math language is in english it is very specific
it has a beginning and end. In mathematics it is very logical it has a fundamental undefined concept with
no beginning and no end.

Understanding mathematical expressions and sentences is crucial because they form the foundational building blocks of mathematical language, enabling individuals to express and comprehend complex mathematical concepts. Just as nouns and verbs form sentences in English to convey complete thoughts, mathematical expressions (the equivalent of nouns) and sentences provide clarity and precision in mathematics. They are used to represent mathematical objects and complete ideas respectively, which is essential for solving more elaborate problems and engaging in higher-level mathematical reasoning .

Mathematics contributes to stable business operations through its application in pricing strategies by enabling businesses to determine prices that secure future cash flows and maintain market competitiveness. By accurately calculating costs and setting prices, businesses can avoid losses and ensure financial stability. This process, known as price discovery, involves understanding supply and demand interactions, cost structures, and desired profit margins, ensuring prices are optimal and sustainable over time .

The language of mathematics differs from English in that it is highly precise, concise, and powerful for expressing complex thoughts. While English tends to use specific terms with a defined start and end, mathematical language uses expressions and sentences to convey ideas logically and systematically without a rigid structure. In mathematics, expressions function like nouns but represent mathematical objects, whereas sentences convey complete mathematical ideas akin to English sentences. This precise language allows for clearer understanding and manipulation of mathematical concepts .

Mathematical precision in financial analysis is critical for accurate forecasting, which helps businesses make informed strategic decisions. Precise calculations allow companies to anticipate future expenses and revenues accurately, set appropriate budgets, and mitigate financial risks. It enables businesses to confidently engage in price discovery and profit measurement, directly influencing their viability and competitive advantage in the marketplace .

Mathematics is crucial in business operations for managing expenses and pricing strategies by enabling businesses to accurately calculate production costs, determine correct product pricing, and ensure stable cash flow. It involves calculating various costs such as raw materials, rent, and administrative expenses to prevent unexpected expenditures. Furthermore, mathematics aids in pricing strategies by facilitating price determination and discovery processes, ensuring that prices generate the necessary cash flow for future business requirements .

Comparing the languages of mathematics and English enhances our understanding of their complexities by highlighting their distinct approaches to expression. English uses specific, structured sentences to convey thoughts, often allowing for ambiguity and interpretation, while mathematics uses logical expressions and sentences to achieve clarity and precision. This juxtaposition helps us appreciate how each language serves its purpose: English for effective communication and cultural expression; mathematics for precise and concise articulation of complex ideas .

The educational implications of comparing English and mathematics as languages include fostering an appreciation for the uniqueness and utility of each. It encourages students to recognize mathematics not just as numbers and operations but as a form of language that is logical, precise, and essential for scientific communication.
