Hi/hello I’m Angel Rose Zamora of group 3 and here in this video I will be teaching
you guys and girls about the nine (9) steps in implementing configuration
management successfully in business. One of the nine steps in implementing
configuration management successfully is to Establish a governance framework
and policy. Which means that organizational structures of the business must be
clearly and properly viewed and identified from top to bottom, and by that, orders
and command comes from the right authority as per policy of the business (examples
Configuration owner, Configuration manager, and Configuration database
developers). The second step in implementing the configuration management
successful is the defining roles and responsibilities, so again organizational
structures of the business have been clearly and properly identified by of course of
each and every employees of the business. So each employees have different roles
and responsibilities, and each one will only responsible to their given main roles to
the business. So, you as the employee of the business know your roles and your
responsibility and take accountable to it. The third step in implementing the
configuration management successful is to Determine the configuration
management system or CMS primary usage. So, it is important you as the assigned
employee of the configuration management system to have full knowledge of all
about related to configuration management system or CMS specially its usage to the
business company and to company’s customers. We are now on the fourth step in
implementing the configuration management successful and the fourth one is to
Determine what types of records it will hold. This is important too, as per policy of
the business. Only business transactions related can be records and stored to the
specific recording or storing system. These collection of records of data will then
serve as an information of the business that is crucial to every decision making of
the business. One of its example is the financial statement of the business which
entails both business performance and conditions of the business at most current
situation (other examples Measurement and reporting detail, Incident, problem,
change and release records, and (OLAs) and underpinning contracts). The fifth step
in implementing the configuration management successful is to Determine existing
data repositories, in here, specially if you are a newbies of the business company. It
is very most important that you should always observe and ask if you have questions
and concern regarding to your assign task or job. And if ever, you should always
remember to kept and care the existing of all whatever things that is in it in the
business (other examples are Users of the data, Accuracy of the data, and
Completeness of the data). The six step in implementing the configuration
management successful is to Understand what tools are available to support the
process. Configuration management system is a process and to do the process of
Configuration management system is to make sure the availability of tools that
requires to complete the process. And which tools are most applicable or suit to a
particular process of solving a problem or an issues of the business. The seven step
in implementing the configuration management successful is to Decide on a
configuration item (CI) categorization and naming scheme. This can be done
through after the identification of what the problems of the system are for example.
This is where that the Configuration management system team will do the checking
examination to diagnose the problem of the system and by that to address or resolve
the problems of the system. And they usually do lay outing and sketching the whole
entire broken system in order to come up with the right and correct solution to
address the problem. The eight step in implementing the configuration management
successful is to Decide on configuration management system or CMS structure.
Configuration management system structure is too important to configuration
management system team for this is somewhat like a prescription medicine by a
doctor to cure such disease. So it is one ways on how to properly diagnose the
problems of the system and of course to come up with the right solution with the
help of use of the tools available suited to solve the problem (structure includes

1. Breadth: the number of families and categories of CIs that will be tracked.

2. Depth: the extent to which component CIs will be tracked. For example, the disk
drives or cards within a server can be tracked as CIs.

3. Detail: the number of attributes and types of relationships for each class of CI
that will be tracked.). The last nine step in implementing the configuration
management successful is to Establish an improvement process. Improvements and
developments are the core purpose, goal, and objective of the business companies.
