Explain the concept of national single window under Ucustoms?

uCustoms is a fully integrated, end-to-end, Customs modernization solution that delivers 'Single
Window' for goods clearance. The "u" stands for "Ubiquitous" which is defined as "Present,
appearing or found everywhere". It is customs modernization solution that deliver single window for
goods clearance. Whereby there can access the information on customs related activities only under
this one portal Ucustoms. Meaning they providing solution under one platform, so that user can
easily access regarding things that related with the custom such as applied permit and paying tax.

Question 2

Describe on how customs verification initiative is important in customs operation?

CVI is a risk management system and used to determine the risk level in custom declaration made by
importer, exporter or agent when the goods entering clearances. CVI also determine by profiling the
goods in order to detect the level of risk associated to the goods. Customs has determined the risk
by 3 level such as level 1 level 2 and level 3 its going from low medium and high. Customs also
collaborate with other agencies such as PDRM in order to obtain information regarding profiling the
type of goods and its risk on our country. The Customs Verification Initiative (CVI) and other
measures are helping to curb the smuggling of certain goods. With the use of the Customs
Verification Initiative (CVI) and calculated measures, senior investigation officers are able to nab
containers with false declaration. This year alone using the CVI technique our men were able to
identify 170 containers in Port Klang that involved fraud. CVI is actually crucial intelligence data
gathered and this allows container information to be screened thoroughly thus giving hints to
officers to conduct checks.
