Present Perfect & Past Simple Exercises

The Present Perfect of (Be) is have/has been.


have/has been = went to a place and came back
* I have been to the dentist's = I went there and came back.
* Sally has been to London = She went there and came back.

Note: Ever and never are often used with have been.
* Have you ever been to Italy?
* No, I have never been to Italy before.
• The Present Perfect of (Go) is have/has gone.
have/has gone = go to a place and not come back yet.
* They have gone to Aswan. (They are there now)
* He has gone to work. (He is there now).
