1.2.4 PHASE – GROUND FAULT DETECTION
Ground fault trigger can be either I0, V0, or I0&V0 we use
MODE = I0&V0
I0>1 = 0.05 A
I0>2 = 0.20 A
I0>3 = 0.20 A
I0>4 = 0.20 A
I0>5 = 0.20 A
V0 = 0.50 V
K= Disabled (Setting is use to shift I0 setting base on ratio Io/Ipmax )
1.2.5 FACTORS
This defines direction of the operation. (Operating region of zone)
Alfa = -15°°
Beta = 165°°
Note :
Beta – Alfa = 180
165 – (– 15) = 180

Case 1 :
• If length is less than 100Km, then Reverse Zone = 20% of Line length.
• If line length is more than 100Km Reverse Zone = 10% of Line length.
Case 2 :
• Total Reverse Zone % = ____________100______________
Total positive sequence reactance
= ____________100______________
[|Z1| Sin (71.6692)] x Line Length
= ____________100______________
0.4350 x Sin(71.6692) x 44.5
= 5.44%
To set Final Z4 setting takes maximum in between Case 1 and Case 2
Our length is 44.5Km ; it is less than 100Km
Case 1 Value = 20% of Setting, and
Case 2 Value = 5.44 % Setting of line length
Final Z4 setting = Maximum (Case1, Case 2)
= Maximum (20%, 5.442%)
Zone 4 Reach = 20% of line length
OP Mode = Reverse
Fwd-RP4 = As per the guideline (Page 2, Section4) says “The resistive reach should be equal to
Zone-2 resistive reach”
