3. Make an interpretation of your response (How do you consider yourself? A
beginning, proficient, highly proficient, or distinguished teacher? Why?
Last 2018 that was the year I graduated. It’s been three years I am not practicing my
teaching profession. I have had experience in teaching when I was undergraduate because
of the outreach program, demo teaching and practice teaching. However, I could say that I
do not have enough knowledge in classroom management. I do not have the strong
understanding in subject and areas. Someway, as an educator, even my job right now is not
aligned in my chosen profession we find ways how to actively engage in collaborative
learning with the professional community and other stakeholders for mutual growth and
advancement. I am continually seek to develop my professional knowledge. So now, even
that is my case in teaching, I am taking this kind of schooling to consistently seek
professional advancement and relevance in pursuit of teaching quality and excellence.
I consider myself as a beginner because I do not have wide range knowledge in
teaching profession and how to handle students in difficult situation. I put many checkmarks
in the column of proficient teacher because I am still utilizing it in my present job. In highly
proficient I get the concept almost when I am practicing my teaching profession yet I still
doing it in my everyday living. We all know that learning is a continuous process in our life,
we never stop learning, we are the one to decide if how we improve and growth
professionally. So I could say that I am distinguished on that field the acquisition of
information, attitudes, and practices, through observation, seeking previous knowledge,
searching out guides, and looking within as well as without. There is a great quote from
Respected APJ Abdul Kalam regarding learning “Learning process gives creativity, creativity
leads to thinking, thinking provides knowledge, knowledge makes you great”. Therefore, I
am grabbing this kind of opportunity now, I am taking graduate school to pursue my chosen
career, to learn and share the knowledge, academic curiosity, reading & practicing,
creativity, thinking ability and extending the knowledge levels.
4. Write 3 general implications of your answer/honest evaluation
My implication to my answer: First, I underrated all that is related in classroom
management and teaching profession simply because it is not aligned in my job so I am not
practicing it. Second, I am utilizing some strands in my present work. Third, I am continually
find ways to pursue my chosen career and to improve myself most especially in teaching
profession.
5. In what specific domain you rated yourself very low? Why?
I am very low in Domain 1 (Content knowledge and Pedagogy), Domain 4 (Curriculum
and Planning) and Domain 5 (Assessment and Reporting) simply because I am utilizing my
potentials on these domains.
6. What necessary programs or actions will you take in order to improve your teaching
performance? (Ways forward)
The action that I will take to improve my teaching performance is I will enter in
teaching field if my licensed in professional teacher will be blessedly granted by God on this
coming year 2022. I am just for His calling because I believed everything happens for a
reason. The necessary programs that I am grabbing to never stop learning I am enrolling
TESDA and attending seminar related in teaching profession.
7. What do you think is the relationship and relevance of PPST to our course, Advanced
Educational Psychology?
The relevance of PPST in the subject advanced educational psychology learning
theories give good insight into the way the students learn. And once you know this, you can
make the teaching-learning process 'learner centered' in real sense. It actually helps you to
understand what are the needs of learner in the classroom, why he behaves in a specific
way, why he responds in a way different from others and different from his own behaviour
at different times. Once you understand the learner, you can design instructional strategies
accordingly to make teaching-learning a successful experience.
