Hospitality and tourism online reviews (HTORs) have been recognized as influencing consumer

decision-making and are seen as a valuable information-based asset. Therefore, a number of

researchers have conducted studies on various features and characteristics of HTORs to evaluate
their impact on consumer (Chan et al., 2017). Online reviews have become an important source
of information enabling consumers to seek detailed and reliable information by sharing previous
consumer experiences (Liu & Park, 2015). From the perspective of potential customers, these
reviews are considered to be authentic, trustworthy, and helpful; they are also influential (Sengo
Furtado et al., 2021). Thus, online reviews. In economic and social systems increasingly
characterized by evaluations and ratings, consumers pay growing attention to user-generated
content. This is particularly relevant in tourism, where online reviews and ratings of destinations
accommodation or attractions are now widely available (Gössling et al., 2019). Furthermore,
they are having a considerable impact on consumer behavior, especially amongst younger people
(Robbiani, 2016). This is also why potential customers spend so much time reading online
reviews to aid their decision making (Schuckert et al., 2015).

A tourism destination, in this case a resort, is a specified geographic location where visitors stay
for at least one night and includes tourism items such as lodging, transportation, infrastructure,
facilities, and services (Haarhoff & Gany, 2017). Islands are a unique and significant form of
vacation spot (1&2 & Ong, 2020)The Philippines' resort industry has contributed to the country's
economic progress. Beach vacations were in great demand, according to (Mustapha & Awang,
2018) especially in Asia Pacific. According to the Department of Tourism, the increase in
vacationer appearances from January to April 2012 was due to the resort industry's effort to
providing excellent offices, things, and administrations to both remote and neighborhood
showcases (1&2 & Ong, 2020) For each integrated resort, the most recent 120 reviews (i.e., 480
overall) were analyzed. This number is adequate for the purpose of performing a content analysis
of online reviews (Lee, Law, & Murphy, 2011).

While online customer comments play two important roles in both providing information and
providing advice, these comments have been an important out info resources affecting the travel
decisions and reducing the perceived risks in tourism sector (Zhang et al., 2010; Pan et al., 2007;
Park et al., 2007, Laboy and Torchio, 2007; Morgan et al., 2003; Klein, 1998). In tourism and
other sectors, an increasing number of firms now take an active role in social media information
exchange by having staff post their own comments. However, “…Today, only 7% are
responding to reviews even though 71% of people say that seeing a management response is
important” (Revinate, 2011). Complaints and compliments (i.e., comments) made on the internet
have their own astonishing power, online comments, in particular, are strongly linked to a
company's popularity (Nghiêm-Phu, 2018). When the quantity ratio of positive and negative
reviews exceeds the threshold of 3.1:1 or higher, customer opinion shifts to the positive (Chen &
Xie, 2008). While online customer comments play two important roles in both providing
information and providing advice, these comments have been an important out-of-the-box
information resource influencing travel decisions and lowering perceived risks in the tourism
sector (Adnan & Akdeniz, 2017)

The source of feedback is obviously important, but so is the nature of the feedback. Some of this
feedback is positive, while others are negative. The current study sought to ascertain the relative
importance of these two factors by hotel management. Previously, research has focused on the
processes of handling complaints in the hospitality industry (Torres et al., 2015). Many travel
companies have also recognized the value of including user-generated content created by
customers on their websites, typically in the form of edited testimonials (Dediu, 2016). (Hankin,
2007). This type of smart technology can deliver services through a digital network in
technological objects as well as engage real-time data collection, receive customer feedbacks and
offer corrective calculation to customers (Wuenderlich et al. 2015). T

ORs are written by travelers to share their own experiences with a product or service and to
describe their levels of satisfaction in order to assist other travelers.(Gössling et al., 2019).
Henceforth, the posting of surveys assumes a significant part. In the online sales of the
hospitality and tourism sector, which mainly offers service and focuses on customer satisfaction.
Putting top notch surveys on the top can limit clients' time since they can get their data from not
many quality audits. For the most part, audits for practically all online business sites are arranged
dependent on regency or support (Saumya et al., 2018). For academic academics, practitioners,
and customers alike, customer satisfaction is critical. Customers' satisfaction with their lives, in
particular, has been thoroughly researched in the literature (Ahn et al., 2019)

According to recent NFO Plog Research studies, the Internet has become one of the most
important information sources for acquiring travel information (Kim et al., 2007). Online
reviews (ORs) in the travel industry can be thought of as electronic versions of traditional WOM
and consist of comments published by travelers on the tourism products, services, and brands
they encounter.
A significant part of the travel experience is now being shaped by information obtained online in
the form of new media such as consumer-generated videos, reviews, and blogs. argue that
travelers use the internet for a wide variety of tasks depending upon the stage of the trip
(Fesenmaier et al., 2010). The democratization of online reviews, which have emerged as a
powerful marketing and service information channel that influences customers purchase
decisions is the most significant impact of social media platforms on the travel industry. (Forman
et al., 2008).

As a result, when planning a journey, travelers look for information to lessen ambiguity and
perceived dangers Overall, buyers are more likely to purchase a product that has been pushed
through reviews (Sengo Furtado et al., 2021). Because they are viewed as more trustworthy than
traditional marketing communications, online reviews have become a popular tool for consumers
to assess the quality of products (Sengo Furtado et al., 2021). However, the effectiveness of
internet reviews may be limited. To begin with, online reviews may simply reflect consumer
preferences. These reviews may help predict product sales, but they have minimal impact on
consumer choices (Sengo Furtado et al., 2021).

(Sparks et al., 2013) found that while the source of information is crucial, so is the content.
Several recent research have begun to look into the information reliability of online consumer-
created information. Because information credibility is frequently positively related to the
reliability of the information source, consumer-created information is likely to be more credible
than seller-created information (Chen & Xie, 2008).
