The creator of the Philosophical Science
1. Aristotle Foundations, outstanding Greek
Philosopher and scientist, cannot be
overestimated as a contribution to the
development of human civilization. The list
of sciences which begins with Aristotle's
works is incomplete: logic, physics, bology,
political, sociology, law, pedagogy,
psychology, ethics and aesthetics. This is
the history of science. The scientific system,
which is built upon and evolved by common
principles, is based on and philosophy
which was the combination of various
exercises. It was in reality he who
formulated and applied the concepts which
differ from the craftsmanship, art or
religion in his works.
2. John Locke Locke said the aim of education was to make
children virtuous and use the power of reason to
defeat desire. Education should be aimed at
learning moral behavior in society instead of
investigating the individual's preferences.
The principle of all virtue and excellence rests in
the power to deny ourselves the fulfilment of our
own desires when reason is not permitting them.
This means Children are to be training in self-

essentially egotistical and driven by their own
wishes, but not innately bad; via observation they
learned bad behavioral practices. Education should
be targeted instead of investigating individual
desires, towards developing moral behavior in
societies.

1. John Dewey (1859- John Dewey was, according to a lot of
1952 arguments, the most prominent educational thinker
of his day. He changes fundamental methods to
teaching and education as a philosopher, social
reformer and educator. His thoughts regarding
education stemmed from a pragmatist mindset and
were essential to the Progressive Movement in
education. Given its relevance, it is paradoxical that
many of its theories have been misunderstood and
used in a rather poor manner during the previous
century.
The Dewey concept of education gives a
premium to meaningful learning activity and class
democracy involvement. Unlike past teaching
strategies based on authoritarianism and rote
learning, progressive learning affirmed that
students need to invest in what they learned.
Dewey emphasized that the curriculum is relevant
to the lives of students. He considered it vital for
children's education to learn and develop practical
skills in life. Certain detractors supposed that
children would be unable to gain fundamental
academic abilities and information under the
Dewey system. Others thought the order and

authority of the teacher would disappear.
2. James Williams (1842- William James is famous for helping to found
1910) psychology as a formal discipline, for establishing
the school of functionalism in psychology, and for
greatly advancing the movement of pragmatism in
philosophy. With his encyclopedic, theoretical and
experimental understanding of psychology, his
expertise in the art of teaching, as well as his know
how to diagnose human feeling, James was
excellent for revealing the wrong, new and ancient
ideas, as well as for promoting the true ones. The
basis of the difficulty was that the student was to be
considered an active being not only a mind to fill,
but a complex and growing organism, the mind only
having one characteristic. In turn, this characteristic
was not an agent, but an agent with interests,
impulses, powers, resistance and particularity that
defined a unique person together. There is nothing
farther away than a patterned machine, which
reacts passively to outside prods and prizes.

Brameld (1904-1987) was a renowned 20th-century educational
philosophy. Brameld was renowned as the creator
of social reconstructionism as an American
educational philosopher. He has seen the
potentials for either human destruction, technology
and human cruelty or the capacity to develop a
charitable society with technology and human

War II (Philosophical Perspectives). Brameld spent
his efforts to use schools as social change agents.
The following Bramelds work is: Ends and Means
in Education (1950), Patterns of Educational
Philosophy (1955), Philosophies of Education in
Cultural Perspective (1955), Toward a
Reconstructed Philosophy of Education (1956),
Cultural Foundations of Education (1957),
Education and the Emerging Age (1961), Education
as Power (1965), The Use of Explosive Ideas in
Education (1965), The Climactic Decades (1970),
Patterns of Educational Philosophy (1971), The
Teacher as World Citizen (1976), and Tourism as
Cultural Learning (1977).
It was Brameld's belief that the establishment
of a new social order through education would
satisfy society's fundamental principles and
harmonize with today's social and economic
pressures. Social and cultural variables would
influence the child, school and education. The task
of the instructor was to persuade his students that
the reconstructionist approach was valid and
urgent." To accomplish so, education must be fully
refashioned to fit the demands of the current
cultural crises (Four Theories of Education).
2. Emile Durkheim (1858- Social and moral order was one of Emile
1917) Durkheim's main concerns. This focus is
undoubtedly associated with his education in the
home of an imminent French rabbi. "Durkheim
received a deep and continuing interest in universal
moral law and the issues related to ethics through a
Jewish family education and an intimate
environment, a concern which was not linked to
any indulgent sense of humor. He was in fact
eminently humorless and very heavy-handed."
Most likely, Durkheim contributed greatly in the
field of methodologies for study. Although the
necessity to make sociology scientific was
emphasized by Auguste Comte or other early
sociologists, their research methods were not
especially scientific. However, they influenced later
sociologists by carefully observing armchair

using facts for the development and testing of
social doctrines. Emile Durkheim was one of the
most important sociologists of the past. First, in his
groundbreaking suicide research, he introduced
statistical tools to the study of human groupings.

1. The insights and learning I have gained from studying the philosophical foundations
of curriculum …….
The philosophical basis of the curriculum helps to define the driving purpose and
role of the different participants. Although all foundations advocate the setting of
curriculum objectives, philosophy presents the way in which these objectives are
formed.
By learning Philosophical foundations of curriculum. A teacher could evaluate and
assess the philosophy from their students' perspective. In addition to understanding
why students behave in a particular way, teachers need grasp how their actions are
perceived by students. Like helping students, it also helps them.

of curriculum …..
Psychological Foundations of Curriculum with regard to how people are learning and
how specialists in the curriculum are asking how psychology may contribute to program
development and delivery. It provides an opportunity to comprehend the teaching and

understand, gain knowledge as well as the ability to use it.
These foundations enable us manage the learning process through the creation of ideal
learning results. It helps us to enhance positive conduct to assure its repeatability. These
foundations can be used to create adequate media and resources that respond to learners'
needs and capabilities. Taking these foundations into account, it is possible to better
understand the needs of students and to develop activities accordingly. With the support of
these foundations, we can define short and long-term objectives and the continuity of
thoughts and skills may be preserved.
