Heat Load Analysis (Residential)
This is an approximation for preliminary design. The procedures, which are partly followed due
to insufficient instruments and sources, and values, like overall coefficient of heat transmission, air
exchange per hour, and heat capacity, are gotten, overall coefficient of heat transmission, air exchange
per hour, heat capacity are gotten from Joseph Wujek & Frank Dagostino ‘s MECHANICAL AND
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction book thus their specifications are
the basis. Further precision of calculation for residential, please refer to ASHRAE – Fundamentals, and
ASHRAE Standard 55. The data can be extracted from the given plan.
Rooms that should be heated per room are the following:
a) Bedroom 1
b) Living, Dinning, and Kitchen Area
c) Bedroom
Please refer the HVAC Floor Plan Drawing for further details.
