Reflection Paper

On January 2020, the Philippine Department of Health reported the first Covid-19 in our
country. After a few months it got worst, affecting our everyday life and changing the way we
live.
At first, Covid-19 for me is not very alarming. At that time, I am still busy doing my school
works, assignments and plates not paying attention about the news about this virus. For me its
just a normal virus that will eventually be cured and fade away. Then after a few months, it gets
worst to the point that it affects our normal daily routine, school, work and transportation. We
experienced being quarantined due to the fast spreading of the virus, we are not allowed to go
outside which results to different changes in our society. Schools and universities undergone a
big adjustment’s on how to cope up in the situation even in the work place, social gathering,
business, everything is affected. Different problems arose like financial problems for every
family on how they can sustain for their families need, which is also our problem at that time. My
brother resigned from his work and my father and mother does not have a stable job to provide
for our needs. This was a very troubling times for our family but at that time, but God answers
our prayers about his provision for us. My brother got a job which was very stable and lets him
to do his work at home with good benefits. I don’t know why I don’t feel very stressed about our
situation. For me it was nice to have a break from our busy schedule in life and just enjoy the
things that we have even if there are so many changes in our environment.
What affects me during this time was that how people criticize and disobey the rules that
our government was implementing in our area. Even in social media, people are getting toxic
and saying un-appropriate words towards on the different issues in our country. In my opinion, I
think we don’t have to spread negativity in people but just obey the authority because God put
them there and so they are accountable to God in every action they are doing. My part is to pray
for them and to obey because God is the overall authority in heaven and on earth.
This pandemic also helps me to explore other things like having an exercise, gardening,
having time to talk with my brothers and grandparents which was not possible before Covid-19
because I am so busy at doing my school works, church services and sleeping. Even when
things are not doing well Im glad that this pandemic helps me to refocus myself on what is
important in my life.
I have four major realization in my life about this Coronavirus Pandemic that we are
experiencing in our life today. First, everything in our life is temporary, we are just borrowing it
from God. Our time, our resources, our life, health and everything that we have is not
permanent. Second, It was nice to have a break from all the things that makes us busy in our
life either in school or in work. This pandemic helps me to have more time for my family and
have to meditate more about life and God’s word. Third, God is our redeemer. In this time of our
life where we feel like everything was getting worst, remind yourself that God is powerful and he
can restore everything in its best condition according to His will. Lastly was that all things work
together for good to those who trust in the Lord. Change is inevitable like in our school, we now
have online classes because it is still not safe to do face to face method in teaching. In work, we
now have work from home, and even in business aspects of our society where online
transactions became very efficient for everyone. Change will always occur and it will not always
be easy to take the process but I learned that I should trust God in every area of my life
because even if everything changes, God will never change and also his promises.
