d. What spiritual nourishment did you get from this religious activity? Write a reflection about
it.
Church members are responsible to have a renewed life. When it comes to our
new life in Christ, Paul described this new walk in great detail in Romans, chapter 7. How
we are married to Christ when we believe in Him. That we are able to bring forth fruit from
Him. We once were walking in the flesh, but are now walking in the Spirit. Sin is no
longer an everyday part of our lives, for we are dead to sin. How God has delivered us
from our old life and brought us into newness of life. This he said here. 1“Wherefore, my
brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be
married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth
fruit unto God. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law,
did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from
the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit,
and not in the oldness of the letter.” (Romans 7:4-6)
b. What can you do to remind yourself to think about God and talk to him more often
throughout the day?
I really don’t separate good times or hard times from my faith. I am blessed to
have my life penetrated with the gift of faith and I have striven to have my relationship
with God be as authentic a relationship as I would have with a physical person. I have
scheduled prayer and worship as a part of my day. I pray God will soften my heart during
those times and make me attentive so that it is not “work” or “routine,” but true worship
that I offer.
2. Our work can be our prayer if we dedicate it to God. Did you help with the household
chores in the past week? What were the chores you regularly did for your family? How did you
feel about doing the work? Where in your daily routine can you become more aware of God’s
glory?
I always help in the household chores. Every now and then, I clean the house and
obey my mother’s commands. I do not feel burden when doing chores. I am aware of
God’s glory throughout the day because there was not a time that I have forgotten about
His grace towards me. I am what I am now because of Him and the blessings that He has
bestowed upon me.
