3or the title of my magazine I wanted the font to

be simple like the example to the left. I like
simple font because this c looks more professional
and neat, also if you wanted a more abstract or
c
striking image it would not look too fussy. When I
c was researching I came across Muse magazine, I
really like the simplicity of the titles on the
c magazine because they still stand out even though
c the font is not in a bright colour or a bold. I
used similar conventions from this magazine
c because when I saw it I was automatically drawn in
by the image, the title, font and the overall
simplicity.

c final magazine layout is completely different to my draft
My
layout, after handing my draft in I really did not like how
c
fussy it looked, so I wanted to change the whole look and
layout. When creating my final cover I used as little text as I
c
could and centred all the text so there was nothing surrounding
the image apart from the barcode. When researching different
c
magazines I came across Muse and came across a particular cover
which I thought looked rather similar to mine because all the
c
text was centre aligned the images was very plain and simple and
there was not a lot of text. Another part of the magazines which
c
are very similar is the light coming from the top corners of the
images, also the colour theme has been kept similar with a three
colour pallet choice.

0ostumes, props, iconography used to reflect genre

c 3or the front cover and the double page spread of my
magazine I had two different outfits in the images that
c both kept with the same colour scheme of black and
white. The outfit on the front cover is a black and
c white t-shirt with a face on it, and a black leather
skirt. I chose this out fit because I liked how it just
c looked so casual with out looking too try hard and I
think it also represented what genre of music that the
c artist is suppose to represent. 3or the outfit in the
images on the double page spread I wanted it too look
c very casual and cool thatŨs why I put her in a baggy t-
shirt and leggings. I did not use any props in the
c images as I wanted them to be as simplistic looking as
possible with just Dalilah, what she was wearing and the
c background to the image.

3or the two main images on the magazine I wanted them to be
c
against a back ground with no scenery in the image. The
c image on the front cover was done against a white wall, when
I looked at the images I really liked the light coming in
c from the left hand top corner and how it changed the light
c in the images as you look further down the image it gets
darker. The images used on the double page spread was taken
c up against a brick wall, I chose to use this in the image
because I wanted it too look different to the front cover
c
image and I really likes the contrast between the print on
c
the t-shirt and the brick wall. Both images were taken from
the front with Dalilah looking directly in to the camera
c
drawing you into the image.

Title, article, header etc. font and style
All of the fonts used on all the pages are very similar in
style, they are all simple style fonts. I wanted to use
simple fonts because I wanted to keep with the simplistic
look that I was aiming for. The fonts for the title of the
magazine are only used when the title of the magazine is
written, the name of the artist is kept the same and the
font used on the front cover and contents are the same. The
colour of the text has been kept too black and white
because when I tried to use some of the text in red it just
didnŨt match with the image that I had in my head for how I
wanted my magazine to look.

represents your genrec
I think that the pages of my magazine represent the particular genre
that I wanted the magazine to be. The front cover mentions artists
like Alice ëlass (0rystal 0astles) and YannisPhilippakis (3oals) and
both of these artists are considered ŧindie/alternativeŨ in the genres
of music. The images used on the front cover is not like one that you
would find on the front cover of a pop magazine, neither are the
images used on the DPS or contents page and I think the way that
Dalilah is dressed also represents the chose genre of the magazine.
The contents page mentions other artists like The Vaccines, Two Door
0inema 0lub and The 0ribs, these bands would also be considered
ŧindie/alternativeŨ music. The contents page also shows an image of
3oals playing live in Birmingham o2 academy. The way that Dalilah, Abb
and Jules are dressed also represents a ŧindie/alternativeŨ style
which is kept consistent though out the magazine. The double page
spread article is a very informal article which is being taken place
in the little corner café in London. I think because the article is
informal and the answers from Dalilah are very casual it shows a
chilled out kind of person. The image used on the left hand side I
think represents the genre by the way that she is dressed and just the
general look of the image

ºow the artist is represented
In the article on the double page spread I think the artist
Dalilah Moon is represented as quite a casual person as the
interview is being taken place in a café as she ŧtucksŨ in to a
full English breakfast while being asked questions about her fast
rising career. The article is very informal in the way the
questions have been asked and answered. I wanted the artist to be
seen as a chilled and laid back person and I think by reading the
interview you can see this has been represented well.

0olour scheme
3or my colour scheme I chose a three colour pallet scheme. I think
this was the best choice because when you look at magazines they
all have a colour pallet of three colours, for example when NME
magazine did the special edition issue where there were ten
different covers all ten were based on three colours on the front
cover. I think this makes the cover look more professional and neat
as there is some coordination and consistency all the way through.
I think that the colours chosen were very important to show what
kind of style and genre you wanted your magazine to look like.
