1. How much influences does a family have on the life of a person?
- I can say that family relationships greatly impact people throughout their life,
particularly the relationships established during early childhood.

2. What influences had your family on your development as a person?

- Bring independent, honest, having a respect for elders and of course having a
faith and creating relationship with God.

3. Share happiest/ sorrowful moments you had experienced during your

childhood years.
- My happiest moment that I have experience during my childhood years was
the moment where we came back to Samar which is our home town, I am so
happy that time because I already met my cousins and relatives for the first
time. My sorrowful moment was when my grandfather died, it was my first
heartbreak.

- I felt sad but happy at the same time, I am now in the present so I should
moved on to those passed moments where I cried a lot and just focus on
those things that makes me happy.

a How did you feel watching the documentary about Rizal ? How did it
affect you?
- I am so grateful that I have learned a lot of important information regarding
Dr. Jose Rizal and it affects me in a way that he became my inspiration in
doing the right thing for the sake of our beloved country.

b Trace the paternal and maternal ancestry of Jose Rizal. Draw the
family tree of Rizal
 3. How would you describe the family of Dr. Jose Rizal?
- I can say that the family of Dr. Jose Rizal is very big and I guess they were
very happy before because the more the merrier.

4. How would you relate Jose Rizal’s family and childhood experiences to the
present social issues and problem?
- It’s like all the happy moments or experiences has a consequences that need
to be faced and solved, it’s like you are not allowed to be happy without any
return.

- The experiences of Rizal at Ateneo Municipal de Manila and UST really
influence his character in many ways, one of this is the school nurtured him to
become the intellectual engines of the revolution.

• How would you compare and contrast the quality of Rizal’s character as a student
with the students of today?
- I can say that Rizal was really a great student, imagine his goal as a student
is to rededicate the lives of youth the ideals of freedom and nationalism for
which our heroes lived and died, while student nowadays sometimes forget all
the sacrifices of our heroes just for us to have freedom, sometimes student’s
goals nowadays are only for their selfish interest.

• Why was the mother of Rizal arrested?

- She was arrested on suspicion that she had tried to help her brother, Don
Jose Alberto, in poisoning his wife.

• How did the arrest of Dona Teodora and GOMBURZA affect Rizal?
 - For me it serves as an inspiration for Rizal to work harder just to have a
justice not only for her mother but for all the Filipino who was being
mistreated by the Spaniards.

• What were the causes of the execution of the three priests?

- The three priest were charged with sedition and treason, which led to their
death by garrote.

• How did the scenic beauties of Calamba influence Rizal?

- The scenic beauties of Calamba and the beautiful garden of the Rizal family
stimulated the inborn artistic and literary talents of Jose Rizal.

• How did Rizal describe his parents?

- Rizal described his father as “a model of fathers” because his father Don
Francisco gave all their needs just to have a good life even if building and
giving them a library that will help to their education. Rizal describe his mother
as “loving and prudent mother” because Rizal’s mother taught him everything
while he is still young, including reading books at early age.

• What was the first sorrowful experience of Rizal?

- Rizal’s first sorrow moment was the death of his younger sister, Concha
(Conception Rizal).

• Did Rizal have a happy childhood memories?

- Yes, Jose Rizal just like Filipino boys, had many beautiful memories of
childhood. He has a happy home filled with parental affection, impregnated
with family joys and sanctified by prayers.

• Why was Rizal unhappy in his study at UST?

- There were three main factors that contributed to his unhappiness at the
University of Santo Tomas, namely; The Dominican professors were hostile to
him. Filipino students suffered discrimination. The method of instruction at
UST was obsolete and repressive.

• Do you agree that Rizal is a product of his time?

- Yes Jose Rizal is a product of his time because he was a man of incredible
intellectual power, with amazing artistic talent as well. He excelled at anything
that he puts his mind to – medicine, poetry, sketching, architecture,
sociology… the list seems nearly endless.

1. How important is the role of the family in nurturing a young child.

- Our family is very important in nurturing us, their child, because we learn from
them first. They’re the one who teach us and guide us to the right path before
we enter the school.

2. How much influence does your family have on your life of a person. Cite an
example.
- My family really influence me a lot, some examples are respecting the elders,
having fear and faith with our almighty God, be responsible in all my actions
and be hardworking in achieving my dreams and goals in life and last
showing love to one another because love can change one’s life.

3. Who are the significant persons who have affected your development as a person?
How did those persons affect you?
- My family is the most significant and important individuals in my life because
they’re the one who raised me and love me unconditional. They’re the one who are always
there to lean on their shoulders and comfort me whenever I have a problem. I am proud to say
that I’m so grateful and blessed that I have a complete family because it makes me inspired
every single day to face all the struggles, troubles and hardships of life that is waiting on my
way to my success.

1878 On June, Rizal decided to switch gears in his
