The Postman
The postman is a common person. He is recognized by his dress. He is everywhere in our country. He
is known to us all. He is about 45 years old. He has to do work hard to earn his livelihood. He enjoys
no holidays. He is a poor man. He cannot wear good dress. He cannot provide good clothes or food
to his children. He cannot educate them. He has many problems in his life. He is the member of our
society. We should respect him.
Quaid-e-Azam
Quaid-e-Azam is our national leader. He is the founder of Pakistan. He was born in Karachi on
December 25, 1876. He received his early education in Karachi. He passed his Matriculation
examination from Bombay. He was sent to England for higher studies. He passed Bar-at-law from
London and returned home in 1896. He started his law practice. At start, he joined Indian National
Congress but to the attitude of Hindus he left Congress and joined Muslim League. After a hard
struggle, Pakistan came into being on August 14, 1947. He became its first Governor General. He
died on September 11, 1948. May his soul rest in peace! Ameen!
A house on fire
Yesterday, I was coming home after saying my night prayer. I heard the shouts of fire! fire! When I
looked at the direction, I saw the flames and clouds of smoke rising high. When I reached the spot. I
saw that a double storey house had caught fire. The inmates were crying for help. meanwhile, the
fire bridge arrived and began to fight the flames. After the hard struggle, the fire was brought under
control. Fortunately, there was no loss of life. May Allah save us from such calamities! Ameen!
Allama Iqbal
Allama Iqbal is our national poet. He was born at sialkot in 1877. He got his early education there. He
passed his M.A from Lahore. Then he went to Europe for higher studies. He passed his Bar-at-Law
from London. He got the degree of ph.D from Germany. Then he returned home and started law
practice. He was pained to see the pitiable condition of the Muslims. He wrote many poems to
arouse the Muslims. He gave the idea of Pakistan. He died on April 21, 1938. May his soul rest in
peace.
Stories
The farmer and the snake
A farmer was returning home form a town. He saw a snake almost frozen due to cold. The farmer
took pity on it an carried it home in his basket. He placed it near the fire and his children gathered
around it. After a few minutes it began to move about. Suddenly, it rushed at one of his children. But
the farmer killed it with his stick before it could bite his child.
The shepherd boy
A shepherd boy used to graze sheep in a jungle. He as a joke cried "Wolf! Wolf!". The villagers ran
for his help with sticks but there was no wolf. The boy was laughing. The villagers cursed him. The
boy repeated the joke after a few days. On going to help the boy, they saw no wolf. The villagers
became angry. One day the wolf really came there. The shepherd was afraid and cried "Wolf! Wolf!
".The villagers did not came for help. The wolf killed the boy and ate many sheep.
Moral: Once a liar, always a liar.
The dove and the bee
Once a bee and a dove lived in a forest. One day, the bee was drinking water at a stream. Suddenly,
it fell into the water due to wind. The dove was also drinking water near the bee. When the dove
saw the bee in trouble. She took pity on it and dropped a leaf down in the stream. The bee got on it.
When he wings got dried she flew away. After some days, a hunter came in the forest and took a
careful aim at the same dove. Luckily, the bee came there. When it saw the hunter, it stung in
hunter's hand and the hunter missed his aim. The dove heard the sound of fire and flew away.
Moral: Do good, have good.
