Observation notes

Teacher - Tr Aye Mon (Starter Class) – Date -21.8.2021 – From 10 am to 12 pm

Number of students – 10 students

Teaching Lesson – Starter Paper Test

Firstly, Tr, Aye Mon started to introduce about the lessons. ( Presentation and Introducing )

(1) Observation fact - As for a teacher, in that level, the teacher has to control the class as the students are trying to
show their ability by describing what they can do, what they learnt by saying words when the teacher introduces
the lessons.

The teacher makes sure that the learners already have learning materials

And, the teachers have to wait the learners still they can join the class and lessons as they can.

The teacher mostly needs to use colorful material aids to get move learners’ attentions.

Secondly, Teacher give them to think and recall their memories about the new words ( Eliciting )

(2) And also, most of students already know some words about vocabulary like a background when the teacher
needs to share them for the rest learners. Example – Orange >> Tangerine (From observation class)

When the learners ask the words that they don’t know. At that time, the teacher must give the right instruction
to reach the target language by using gestures, pictures and other teaching material aids.

Thirdly, Teacher asked for the students to read aloud the words. ( Control practice )

(3) During they read along the words , the teacher should check learners’ pronunciation through their spelling. And,
teacher is getting to know who is interested in lessons or not.

Finally, teacher write down the new words on the whiteboard from computer screen to practice spelling words for
learners.

(4) I found that teacher have to allot their tasks to practice the learners’ language skills alternatively in the class.
Example – the teacher gives instruction for five students to repeat the pronunciation of words and at the same
time, the rest of students are needed to practice the writing skills.

At the end of class,

 I mostly observed the learners are delighted and satisfied when the teacher calls their names one by one.
 As for learners, they have lovely manners which they want to respect to their teacher.
 As for the teachers, they have to examine the learners how much they get target language through the lessons.

For the first section, the teacher shows an article of Jennifer Lawrence and she continuously reads about that for the

engine>>engineer.

As grammar references, all of the students have to do lots of exercises about the “suffixes”. After finished doing
exercises , the teacher checks their answers with the instructions and usages ,If the students lose the context of
grammar rules , the teacher really have to explain and give feedbacks in their mistakes until they’ve got context about
the structures.

Throughout the whole lessons, the teacher could give complete lessons and the usages of target language through
testing and doing interaction activities with the students in the whole class.
