NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE 1st HPTA MEETING


July 15, 2016

The child is one of the most important asset and gift of God to mankind. The first training
ground of the child starts at home. Consequently, every member of the family should do his part
and strive to make the home a wholesome and harmonious place as its atmosphere and
conditions will greatly influence the child’s development. Attachment to the home strong family
ties and good discipline should be encouraged for the child’s success. Development of the child
can be influenced by the people around him like his parents, peers, friends and other siblings. He
can also be affected depending on what kind of society he is living, discipline and training that is
inculcated to him.
The existence of the Parent-Teachers Association has proven to be the potential
instrument in the solution of many school problems when parents talk often with teachers and
become involved in the school. Close communication between teachers and parents can help
students for better learning condition. And so, this organization is considered as the best partner
of the school improvement.
With regards to this, the 1 st HPTA meeting of Grade 7-Narra was conducted on July 15,
2016. The first matter that was given emphasis was the tracking and planning for students’
progress. The class adviser reminded the parents of their important role in improving their
children’s performance in school. It was followed by the election of the HPTA officers who play
a very vital role in the school community. School policies as well as the other rules and
regulations were being reiterated by the adviser. When they talked about the HPTA project, they
agreed to have a contribution of two ceiling fan. The schedule of different activities involving the
pupils were also tackled.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON CLEAN-UP DRIVE

A clean-up drive is a continuous campaign for a massive environmental awareness and


the establishment of a sustainable and eco-friendly school/office. This aims to raise active
participation and awareness of pupils/students, Teaching/Non-Teaching Personnel and PTA on
the garbage problem that beset our society today, starting with cleaning our very own
school/office surroundings and the nearby school community. Proper waste segregation, solid
waste management and disposal and school greening program must be given emphasis
intensifying environmental sanitation and healthful living.

With regards to this, the teachers of Talisay School of Agriculture, conducted a clean-up
drive on December 7, 2016 at 3:00 in the afternoon.

Clean-up activity includes sweeping the streets, cutting tall grasses, picking up litters
and wastes on the street. Participating teachers also remove muds and soil piled in the gutter
and road canals where it obstructs the water ways that causes flood. 

This activity is a great help to prevent health problems like dengue and other related
issues that root from flood and dirty surroundings.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON PTA GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2016

The Gen. PTA is one of the associations in the school that plays a vital part in
providing the children a conducive and safe environment for them to participate actively
in teaching-learning activities and enjoy their stay in school premises until the end of the
day.
In line with the yearly activity of the department in conducting a general PTA
meeting Talisay School of Agriculture held an assembly last September 21, 2016 at
1:00 on the afternoon which was attended by the parents.
The main purpose of the assembly was to inform the parents about DedEd
Order # 36 S.2016 which is about the Policy Guidelines on Awards and Recognition for
the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum..

The head teacher, Lea H. Sangalang explained to the parents the awards to be
given, when these awards be given, the criteria on how to achieve these awards and
the specific sizes of medals and ribbons to be awarded to the children.

She also discussed about the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses
(MOOE), how much does the school received quarterly as well as where it is spent.

Parents were also reminded that they have the right to inform the school head if
the HPTA projects were not materialized until the end of the current school year.

Mrs. Shirley L. Almazon, the elected general PTA president was also given a
chance to discussed with the parents about the SPG project, raffle tickets which will be
drawn on Coronation night of Mr. & Ms. TSA and the proceeds will be used in the
ground improvement near the school entrance.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 in the afternoon.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON SCHOOL INTRAMURALS 2016

School is a place where students are nurtured toward becoming responsible and productive
members of society. School provides a means of molding students into capable employees or
professionals in their chosen fields. Mathematics and Science help students to enhance their reasoning,
English helps hone and polish verbal and written communications, social studies promote socialization
and awareness, and physical education encourages students to have holistic and active lifestyles and
practice the arts of winning, losing, and teamwork.

In other words, participating in physical education provides invaluable life skills. The reasons
why sports fest or intramurals should be held at school are the following: it allows students to develop
psychomotor skills and fine-tune motor skills with coordination, movement, strength, dexterity, grace,
and speed, and also find healthy outlets for energy; it promotes camaraderie and rapport among
students, instructors, parents, and administration. In other words, sports build strong bonds within the
community; it instills discipline among students; it provides a healthy pastime to help students refrain
from various vices such as drugs, smoking, drinking, and spending excessive time on electronic devices;
it teaches the value of teamwork ;it teaches the value of sportsmanship; it showcases talents so that
others will be inspired; it encourages healthy competition among participants; and it teaches students to
shine under pressure and to cope with nerves or performance anxiety.

Talisay School of Agriculture held its school intramural on August 25-26, 2016. The two-day
activity kicked off with a parade participated in by students and teachers. This was followed by the
search for Miss Intrams 2016. The candidates were from different teams of different colors. They
showcased their talents and undergone the sportswear competition. Eunica Hernandez won as the Miss
Intrams 2016 from yellow team and John Wae Sangalang as the Mr. Intrams from red team.

At one o’clock in the afternoon, everybody became so excited to watch the highlight of the
activity, different games competing by the different teams. The students demonstrated their skills in
playing their chosen events. Different teams played different group games. And some of them played
individual games.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON SCHOOL TRAINING ON DAILY LESSON LOG PREPARATION

The Policy Guidelines on Daily Lesson Preparation for the K-12 Basic Education Program aims
to support teachers in organizing and managing their classes and lessons effectively and efficiently, and
ensure the achievements of the learning outcomes. It also aims to empower teachers a) to carry out
quality instruction that recognizes the diversity of learners inside the classroom, b) allows the use of
varied instructional materials, and formative assessment strategies, c) enables teacher to guide, mentor,
and support learners in developing and assessing their learning across curriculum.
The teaching staffs of Doña Maria Laurel Platon Memorial School, together with their school
head, Mr, Romeo E. Landicho organized a school training on Daily Lesson Log Preparation on October
28,2016.

The activity started with an opening program. Mrs. Genalyn G. Cacao led the prayer. The pledge
of allegiance was recited by Mrs. Conchita A. Laurel while Mrs. Gemmalyn Silang conducted the singing
of the National Anthem, Calabarzon March and Himno ng Batangan. A food for thought was given by
[Link] Almazon Roll call of participants was done by Mrs. Mae L. Malabanan. Then the school
principal, [Link] E. Landicho gave her words of welcome. An energizer was led by Mrs. Jocelyn L.
Ilagan.

The training proper began with an overview of the DepEd Order No.42 s. 2016 which was given
by Mr. Romeo E. Landichi. He explained its legal bases and objectives.

The steps of Instructional Process and Elements of Instructional Planning was discussed by Mrs.
Agnes Villanueva. She explained that the three steps of instructional planning are planning of instruction,
delivery of instruction and assessment of learning. She also said that a lesson plan serves as a teacher’s
roadmap for particular [Link] contains details of what a teacher and pupils will do to discuss the topic

The next session was handled by Mrs. Nelilyn Llanto, which was about the daily lesson log and
its parts. According to her teachers with at least 1 year of teaching experience, including teachers with
private schools & HEIs teaching experience shall not be required to make detailed lesson plans. Instead,
they shall be required to fill out a weekly Daily Lesson Log (DLL). They are allowed to work together.
Seasoned teachers can mentor novice teachers in preparing DLL. She clearly explained what should be
written on each part of a Daily Lesson Log.

The last discussant was Mrs. Mae L. Malabanan who showed the participants an example of a Daily
Lesson Log. The participants had a clear understanding of what should be done in preparing a DLL after
they had seen the example shown by Mrs. Malabanan.
