Brief introduction to the industry
A software company is a company whose primary products are various forms of software,
software technology, distribution, and software product development. They make up the software
industry.
Information technology in Pakistan is a growing industry that has the potential to expand more in
the future. Matters relating to the IT industry are overseen by the Ministry of Information
Technology of the Government of Pakistan. The IT industry is regarded as a successful sector of
Pakistan economically, even during financial crisis.
INTRODUCTION
The textile industry contributes approximately 46percent to the total output or 8.5 percent of the
country GDP. In Asia, Pakistan is the eighth largest exporter of textile products providing
employment to 38percent of the employer of the country.
OVERVIEW
Pakistan, which has about 60% of its 200 million population in the 15 to 29 age group, represents
an enormous human and knowledge capital. Pakistan has more than 2000 IT companies & call
centers and the number is growing every year. Pakistan has more than 300,000 English speaking
IT professionals with expertise in current and emerging IT products and technologies, 13
Software technology parks, more than 20,000 IT graduates and engineers are being produced
each year coupled with a rising startup culture.
IMPORTANCE OF IT INDUSTRY IN ECONOMIC SECTOR:
Information technology has assumed a central enabling role in the emerging dynamics of a
knowledge society and knowledge economy. It is a key lever of economic development.
Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) sector is carving a differentiated position as the
preferred source for software development, BPO and freelancing. Pakistan was ranked at number
four for freelance development in the world and IT exports have increased 70% during the last
three year
IT SECTOR’S CONTRIBUTION TO THE ECONOMY OF PAKISTAN:
Digital growth in Pakistan is going through a rapid evolution. IT/ITeS Sector is one of the fastest
growing sectors of Pakistan contributing about 1% of GDP of Pakistan at about 3.5 billion USD.
It doubled in the past four years and experts expect it to grow a further 100% in the next two to
four years to $7 billion.
IT exports were recorded to be the highest in the history at $1.067 billion in the fiscal year 2017-
18 compared to $939 million registered in the previous fiscal. Pakistan’s software exports are
currently worth $700 million, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). However, the
country’s freelancers also earn another $1.2 billion in exports, an amount not recorded by the

central bank as they are not registered. Moreover, another $600 million in exports are from those
companies that do not bring their revenues to Pakistan.
CONCLUSION
IT industry is becoming backbone of the Pakistan’s economy. The IT industry of Pakistan plays
an important role in earning foreign exchange, providing employment to the country. Pakistan’s
IT industry is going through one of the toughest periods in decades. Our IT sector needs to
capitalize on the new emerging opportunities by adhering to global best practices, adapting
rapidly changing technologies, better supply chain management while trying to reach global
value chains.

limited Company under the Companies Ordinance, 1984. The Company is principally engaged in
providing Tech and learning solutions to all over the world.

I joined Knowza Learning Solutions SMC (Pvt) Ltd on 17th of October 2017 as an Account
Intern and still continue. This job helped me a lot to learn many things. Like how to work in one
team and try to perform best. How to support your team members? How to handle the pressure?
This job also increased my accounting expertise.

Training Program
Detailed description of the operations/activities performed by the department
The department of the company in which I’ve worked for six weeks is Accounting and Finance.
The activities expected from a finance department cover a wide range from basic book keeping
to providing information to assisting managers in making strategic decisions. What to expect
from your finance department will depend largely on factors such as how much involvement the
owner/manager has to the organization.
The traditional roles and responsibilities of a finance department are important for the smooth
operation of the business. However, most of the functions do not have a considerable strategic
importance. The most common function of the finance department comprises the documentation
and the controlling of incoming and outgoing cash flows as well as the actual handling of the
cash flows.
Knowza’s finance department is managed by Mr. Gulraiz. He got his ACCA degree in 2014. He
has over the seven years of an experience in the field of financial accounts and administration.
At finance dept. Accounts Payable (money out), Accounts Receivable and Revenue Tracking
(money in), Audit, Payroll, Reporting and Financial Statements, Financial Controls all the
function are performed well.
Detailed description of the tasks assigned:
First week:
The day I’ve started the internship. I’ve got to know about the services & process of the
company. As an interns I needed to know how an office runs if I will be going to survive within
this field. I file away documents and client files for other accountants within team.
Initially I started with data entry, as it helps me to understand common accounting and
bookkeeping software programs like Intuit QuickBooks and Excel.
In addition, accounts manager give me a good idea to the basics of general accounting principles
early in the internship. This helps to reinforce standard practices when it comes to business
administration and accounting. It also helps me to learn about the importance of legal and ethical
procedures in a professional environment.
Second week:
After I got basics in the very first week of my internship my manager gave me some client’s
accounts for audit which involves going over clients’ financial documents to ensure that the
amounts are accurate. As per my level of experience, they asked me to perform audits on my
own and then report the findings or aid from a staff accountant in performing the audits.
This task helps me to improve my teamwork and communication skills. Auditing work also
enhance my expertise for detail as they carefully examine records to spot errors.

Third week:
After I got some basic knowledge of organization and the accounting field, my manager asked
me to conduct a variety of financial reporting tasks using available client data, such as payroll,
general ledgers, journal entries, month-end close process reports, accounts payable records,
accounts receivable data, and pricing lists. Preparing financial reports helps me to learn how to
work with data from various sources to create a picture of a client’s overall financial health.
After I completed making financial statements my manager assign one accounts officer to audit
my accounts with existing financial statements they produced.
Fourth week:
In the fourth week of my internship, I was assigned to the petty cash responsible person to get
better understanding of office cash processing. I closely monitor the process of receive and
issues of receipts and deposits all checques collected from external and internal clients. Prepares
vouchers related to various revenues and expenses.
Fifth week & Sixth Week:
The last and final weeks of my internship I was actively involves in managing Uk client accounts
in QuickBooks Online.

ii. Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and
complete financial records.

Structure of Accounts & Finance Department
Most companies have more diverse Accounts & Finance department but Knowza Learning
Solutions SMC (Pvt) Ltd being a small company contains limited but professional and members
with them. It comprises of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Accounts Manager, and Accountants
Officers. The structure is as follows:
The CFO is at the top of the department and reports directly to the
director of the business.
The Accounts Manager reports to the CFO and responsibilities to
reconcile the statements from Accounts Officers.
Accountants Officers have responsibilities to manage Payrolls,

representing the business. It is the Marketing Department's job to reach out to prospects,
customers, investors and/or the community, and create an overarching image that represents your

This chapter concerns the four P ‘s of marketing. The marketing mix framework of the four
P ‘s is used as a device and tool for data gathering in every case study. The four Ps are also
later used to analyze the cases, this is where the four P ‘s develops into the four A ‘s of the
BOP. The four P ‘s will now be explained in depth, so that the data gathering and development

market competitor analysis. Knowza Learning Solutions SMC (Pvt) as new in the market always
prefer to set most competitive prices in the market. Currently they are offering up to 50%
discount on their services so that they can compete with their competitors in the market.
Distribution channel:
The Company achieved this milestone with the diligent marketing strategy in both local as
well as international markets. Most middlemen take the title to the goods, services, and trade in
their own name. This helps in diffusing the risks between the manufacturer and middlemen. This
also enables middlemen to be in possession of the services, which in turn enables them to meet
customer demand at the very moment it arises.
Promotions:
Promoting the services in his territory is another function that marketing department
perform. Many of them design their own sales incentive programs, aimed at building customers
traffic at Google, Facebook and YouTube. Digital marketing refers to marketing on the internet
through digital channels. It’s another term for internet marketing. Not only is it less expensive
than traditional marketing, but it’s a lot easier to reach a large number of new and existing
customers with less money. Smart Insights reports that 45 percent of the organizations don’t
have a clearly defined digital marketing strategy in place. Whether you’re thinking about
transitioning from traditional marketing to digital marketing, or you’re among the 49 percent
