Choose one (1) SDG discussed in Week-1. Identify a particular problem on the SDG chosen. Share
your thoughts on how are you going to contribute to the solution of the problem you identified.
Student’s Answer:

The second Sustainable Development Goal addresses zero hunger, aiming to provide steady and adequate
access to food to as many adults and children as possible throughout the world by 2030 and prevent
severe malnutrition. Also, to feed a growing global population, healthy food must be readily available. The
population growth in the world has made food production more challenging, indicating that there are
more people to feed. As a result, government investment in agriculture has decreased, meaning that most
agricultural laborers are making processes in such an unsustainable manner.

A few obstacles need to be overcome along the way to achieve zero hunger. It should not be difficult to
notice that there is a shortage of food in the Philippines. On the sidewalks, people appear to be begging
for donations at an increasing rate. Nevertheless, those are only a few minor individuals affected by this
SDG. Unfortunately, the problem has been around for a long time, and it has only worsened since the
recent public health crisis. As a student, I can contribute by helping organizations that offer food to those
who are hungry in our community. In recent years, food pantries have become a popular method for
distributing nourishment to the poor, which is now another option. Considering the pandemic currently
afflicting the world, it is best to contribute cash to non-governmental organizations that support the UN's
Sustainable Development Goals.

Therefore, a more significant proportion of resources should be allocated to end hunger, ensure food
security, implement improved nutrition, and support those in need. Students can reduce starvation using
a variety of methods. However, we must determine how we can contribute to the fight against hunger
and malnutrition until we can eliminate these problems.
