1. Describe the misconceptions about marketing. Demonstrate needs, wants and demands
with marketing examples.
Answer: From the class we came to know that marketing is all about gardening. Customers
are like plan we need to nurture them so that we can make them as a permanent customer.
Bust there are some misconception about marketing described below:
1) The first misconception about marketing is it’s all about selling and marketing, it’s more
than that. Advertising is very important for marketing but it’s not the all there are lots of
staff involved like: creating proper plan, using several strategy, utilizing man power so
on.

2) Another misconception is marketing is all about telling and selling so that most of general
people dislike marketing people because whenever they see marketing people they
thought they will tell some unrealistic story to them and will sell product.

3) Marketing is not fishing staff, human being are not fish they we will use food to fish them
by making them fool.

4) Marketing is not about hunting as well org need to focus on long term relationship with
their customer, so ethics is an important issue, you can sell your product once by
misguiding people but that will have great negative impact on your business.

Need, Wants and Demand are some of the core issues of marketing

Need: we can describe need in two words that is “Feeling Deprivation” its means a kind of force
that will lead you to do something or fulfill some or any of your desire
Example: you have found that one of your friend brought a new smart phone and suddenly you
are feeling that your phone became old one you need to buy a phone that is your need.

Want: Need became want when you allow your desire and it is shaped by your surroundings and
your personality.
Example: You will buy phone but you want to buy Samsung brand that is you want.
Demand: demands depends on your buying power, when you have the desire and ability to afford
the product that is demand.
Example: You want to buy Samsung note series and you have the ability to afford the product
then its became demand.

Narrate the definition of market. If you are a marketing manager of Executive motors LTD,
how will you choose the future customers

Answer: Market is all about customers in other words we can say market is predicting
currently how many customer you have and how many new customer you will be able to
attract to your organization. In market two types of buyers 1) Present 2) Future targeted.
Example: I have open a super shop currently some of my permanent customer buying and I
have targeted some other areas customer I will attract they are market for my business.

As a manager of executives motors to choose future customer I will follow some steps.

Step1: I will try to find out people who exhibits needs, now a days by using google, Facebook
or some other analytical tools find out the customers information from that I will try to find out
who are the customer recently searched regarding our products. From that I will have an idea
regarding my target customer.

Step2: who are interested to exchange the resource with us, In step two I will try to find out the
specific target market for our products. It means will try to find out the people who have the
money to buy our products or ability to buy our products. From some financial institution I can
have some information regarding their wealth.

Step 3: This is my last step here I will fix our target customer by find out who have the ability
and also willingness to have our product. Will focus only those customer who have free will to
have our product or might buy our product from the interested group and will try to have a
sitting with the valuable customer regarding our product sell.
Describe modern marketing system and exemplify the importance of every party involved in
the process.
In Modern marketing system there are several parties involved. In a modern marketing first
focus I need to have that is good relation with the supplier. They have great impact on
business because they will help us in our business crisis on other hand if they are not suppling
our product timely it will be difficult for us to survive.
On the other hand we need to have good relation with the competitors because if Govt impose
any tax or any problem arise from the Govt we can protest together.
For expansion purpose we need intermediaries, they play a vital role for marketing product, if
we are able to have good relation with them we can save advertising cost as well.

Lastly customers are everything for the business, if we are able to influence the customer by
providing better quality and service and satisfy them they will force the store keeper to have
our product.

Example: Suppose I am a producer of soap and I purchase product from outside Bangladesh,
suddenly crisis happened if I have good relation with the supplier they will help me on that time
they will supply at least some material I can run my production. Suppose Govt impose some tax
business like us that time all the business like us if we are together we can raise voice against
Govt. If I am able to choose good intermediaries like small stall and if I tell them if they sell my
product I will give them more profit than other soap company are giving they will sell our
product and will have cost reduction on marketing. Finally customer attraction is most important
if we promote our product in a such way customer like they will tell shop keeper to have our
product.

Competitors can act as allies in addressing common challenges like taxation through collective bargaining . Intermediaries facilitate distribution and can significantly reduce marketing costs by directly promoting products if incentivized appropriately . Lastly, customer relationships are paramount, as customer satisfaction drives demand and ultimately dictates the success of the product in the market .

Marketers can maintain positive relationships with suppliers by ensuring transparent communication, timely payments, and mutually beneficial agreements, which encourage supplier loyalty and support . Should a crisis occur, strong supplier relationships can provide critical support, helping businesses navigate disruptions and sustain operations .

Intermediaries play a vital role in reducing marketing costs and expanding product reach by facilitating efficient distribution and leveraging local market knowledge . By establishing partnerships with small retailers and offering incentives, companies can streamline the distribution process, which reduces the need for extensive advertising and logistics expenses . Misconceptions about marketing include the belief that it is solely about selling and advertising. However, marketing encompasses much more, such as strategic planning and utilizing resources effectively . Another misconception is that marketing involves misleading consumers, similar to fishing or hunting, when in reality it focuses on building long-term relationships and maintaining ethical standards . The actual practice involves understanding customers' needs, wants, and demands, which means recognizing and satisfying their feelings of deprivation (needs), shaping desires by societal influences and personality (wants), and enabling purchases through the ability to buy (demands).

Public perceptions of marketing, often viewed negatively as intrusive or deceptive, can strain relationships between marketers and consumers by fostering distrust and aversion to promotional efforts . This perception can be transformed by adopting more transparent and value-driven marketing strategies that focus on customer needs and engagement rather than just sales, which can help rebuild consumer trust and reshape marketing as a beneficial service . Modern marketing employs technological tools like data analytics, social media platforms, and search engines to effectively identify and reach target customers by analyzing behavioral data and purchase history . This strategic use of technology enables precise targeting, maximizing the efficiency of marketing campaigns and enhancing customer acquisition rates .
