Overview of Human Reproductive System

The human reproductive system involves the production of gametes (eggs and sperm) through complex biological processes. Sperm develop in the testes and travel through the vas deferens and urethra. They require nutrients from semen to survive. Females produce eggs in the ovaries, which travel through the oviducts and uterus where a fetus may develop. Hormones regulate and influence the development and function of both the male and female reproductive systems.

Sperm are developed in the testes in the seminiferous tubules. These tubules
produce 100-200 million sperms each day.

Next, sperm travel to the epididymis, a structure located on top of each testis
where sperm mature and is stored.

When the sperm is released from the body, they travel through the vas
deferens, a duct leading aways from the testis.

carries both semen and urine outside the body through the penis.
