Identify practices/areas that you have personally experienced as a positive classroom


environment? Briefly describe how it has helped you in learning.

The biggest thing I have learned and experienced as a positive classroom practice's is
building connections with your students. I was a new graduate when I worked in
international school based in Baguio city. Young, inexperienced,unsure if I would make it
in the institution. But my experience went beyond my expectations, my shared
experience with my students has been an important aspect in which we build strong
relationships and connections that leave lasting impressions and inspirations to me as a
teacher.
I have learned the value of making these connections plays such an important role in
the environment and community of the classroom creating the best learning environment
for them; I was able to see more success, more engagement and more collaborations
each day we had inside the classroom. We built mutual respect and rapport within.
Moreover, these relationships we had, both benefited me and my students in several
ways. First, I had students who simply telling me how great of a teacher I was and how
they wanted me to stay most especially when I had my last meeting with them. Others
would simply give me cards, sometimes a present with a written note of appreciation,
thanking me for becoming their teacher and being an inspiration to them. It was so
incredible to hear, and I was so touched every time I received gifts, heard their positive
comment's even their everyday endearment. Second, I have students who instinctively
coming-out to me, open up their problems seeking for an advice, because they consider
me as their bestfriend whom they really trust. Lastly, I have really enjoyed my teaching
experience despite all the challenges I have to deal with.

On the other hand, handling diverse learners from different culture, ethnicities/race
with different perspective and personality is indeed very challenging but because I was
able to build a strong connection to them and by understanding and recognizing their
differences as unique individuals I was able to give them the chance to learn and
understand different things outside of what they are normally accustomed. I am very
thankful, somehow in my life I was able to inspire and teach them the values and skills
they needed. I know I am not where I am today without them.

2. Evaluate your own learning environment, highlight shortcomings, if any, suggest


measures to improve the situation. Evaluate your own role as learners and propose what
sort of tasks you should perform as good learner.

Teachers play various roles in a typical classroom, but surely classroom management
can be the most important thing a teacher can do for his or her classroom. Classroom
management is ensuring that the classroom run smoothly. When a classroom is
managed, it creates an environment where the students are focused and there is a
positive environment which creates growth in the classroom. Effective classroom
management should start the first day the students enter your classroom. On the other
hand, effective teaching and learning cannot take place without student's involvement.
To have a successful classroom that is well managed there should be student
involvement and a shared responsibility and accountability in the learning process.
Student involvement is important in managing a classroom. When you have student
involvement in the classroom, they are more focused and learning can acore. They are
able to adjust and handle classroom challenges that arise through active involvement in
the decision-making, active engagement and collaboration with fellow students during
class discussion and sharing of ideas, experiences could also help strengthen
interpersonal relationships among student's and the teacher as well.
In contrast, students should always acknowledge that they are a part of a learning
community. They should be responsible for taking ownership of their actions in a way
that values building safe and positive classrooms the same manner where accountability
encourages student learning, and helps improve academic performance and
achievements.
Student involvement is both beneficial to students and teachers as a great way to
determine the value of management. It helps get a better understanding and also
lessened the burden of managing classrooms and the teaching process with a shared
involvement of both teacher and the students which contributes to create something a
successful classroom.
As the teacher, you can create these opportunities. Naming student roles and
responsibilities should begin when students first arrive in the learning environment. Be
open to students having more ideas about roles and responsibilities they would like to
own. Inviting students to be strategic partners in their learning affirms their roles in the
classroom, thus, building confidence and character in themselves.
Each class should agree upon classroom norms. When students are invited to provide
input in classroom rules, they are more likely to hold each other accountable. For a
teacher, that could mean less teacher-to-student directives and more peer-to-peer
course correction.

Actively listening and empathizing with students' experiences can also help in fostering meaningful connections .

Teachers can promote mutual respect and rapport in a diverse classroom by first recognizing and valuing the unique backgrounds and perspectives of each student.
