1. In a particular locality, there is a shortage of face mask. The residents of the place
and the healthcare front liners continue to accommodate the unprecedented
challenge of the coronavirus outbreak. Many of the settlers do not have adequate
protection against the pandemic. As an entrepreneur, what do you think will be a
potential business that could address the need? Who will be your target market?

As an entrepreneur, I would start a business by creating a thick fabric

washable face mask with customized designs and sell it to the particular locality. If
the business will grow, I will hire more tailors and even artist to design in order to
cater the shortage of face masks. If the business won’t click, then I think it would be
better to create connections with face masks suppliers and begin to resell the said
masks. My target market is everyone.

2. People lament about the high rate of electric bill. You always hear them cry
regarding this problem because it does not give justice to the consummation. Being
an entrepreneur, what do you think will be the potential business that could
address the need? What plan of action will you make in order for you to realize
your business? Use the template below for your plan of action.

My goal is to start a solar power energy business, materials and equipment supplier. Since it
is expensive, I will offer an installment basis. With this, people will invest in a costly but long
lasting and efficient energy source instead of paying high rate electric bill which will only
increase/rise sooner or later.

When developing a business plan for a renewable energy project, crucial factors include securing adequate financial resources for materials and equipment, obtaining necessary licenses, and ensuring a skilled workforce is hired. Additionally, careful planning of target markets, effective advertising strategies, and strategic partnerships are essential to market entry. Continuous assessment of the business location, supply chain logistics, and competitive landscape is also necessary to adjust market strategies and resource allocation according to real-time industry dynamics .

Entrepreneurs balance economic gains and ethical responsibilities by creating business models that both satisfy community needs and ensure sustainability. For instance, during crises, producing essential goods locally not only meets urgent societal demands but also stimulates economic activity. Maintaining affordable pricing and ethical marketing practices can enhance community trust and loyalty. Strong alignment between business objectives and social accountability can result in long-term success and resilience, reflecting ethical entrepreneurship .

Human resources management is crucial for the establishment and growth of an entrepreneurial venture, especially in specialized sectors like renewable energy, where expertise is paramount. HR responsibilities include recruiting skilled engineers, ensuring worker safety, and fostering a positive organizational culture. By aligning HR strategies with business goals, entrepreneurs can ensure efficient operations, innovation, and adaptation to market changes. Effective HR management contributes to workforce stability, skill development, and overall organizational growth .

Entrepreneurs can address the scarcity of essential goods, such as face masks, by developing locally-sourced production solutions. For example, creating thick fabric washable face masks with unique designs addresses the immediate need for protection within the community. If the business gains traction, expanding production through hiring more tailors and designers becomes feasible. Alternatively, entrepreneurs can establish connections with suppliers to distribute essential goods. This strategic adaptation ensures that needs are met while potentially stimulating local economic activity .

Products derive value from intangible elements such as brand reputation, user experience, and the emotional connection they provoke in consumers. These intangibles can significantly impact consumer perception by enhancing the perceived quality and desirability of a product, potentially differentiating it from competitors. This value derivation influences purchasing decisions, as consumers may prioritize familiar, trusted brands over untested alternatives, even if they are more expensive .

Products are tangible items that are produced by organizations and can generally be touched, counted, and examined for durability. In contrast, services are intangible and result from the application of skills and expertise to meet an identified need. While products are tangible and discernible, both products and services can be perishable, though products tend to have a longer shelf life compared to services, which are consumed as they are provided .

Understanding the characteristics of tangible goods and intangible services allows entrepreneurs to tailor their market strategies by emphasizing the unique value propositions of each. For tangible goods, highlighting quality, durability, and cost-effectiveness can drive sales, as consumers can physically evaluate these aspects. For intangible services, strategies might focus on the expertise, customization, and emotional benefits offered, as these elements differentiate one service provider from another. This dual understanding informs promotional tactics, consumer targeting, and competitive positioning in the market .

Entrepreneurs can address high electricity costs by starting solar power energy businesses. This involves supplying materials and equipment for solar installations, offering installment payment plans to make the initial investment more accessible. The business requires significant capital, a license to operate, and the hiring of skilled workers. Engaging in strategic planning for target marketing and advertising, alongside creating business partnerships, is essential to ensure the venture's success .

Services are often related to products in situations where the service enhances or supports the use of a product. For example, a company might sell a physical product like a smartphone and offer services such as repair, customer support, or software updates. Despite statements to the contrary, services can create added value and customer satisfaction, thereby impacting product sales positively. This illustrates the integration between products and services that enhances consumer experience and business value .

Understanding both tangible and intangible elements is crucial because it allows entrepreneurs to create offerings that deliver comprehensive value to customers. Tangible aspects of a product can be seen and evaluated before purchase, impacting customer satisfaction and decision-making. Intangible elements, such as customer service and brand reputation, also play a significant role in the overall customer experience and loyalty. Recognizing these aspects enables entrepreneurs to position their products and services effectively in the market and meet diverse consumer needs .
