Christian Education Reflection Insights

God revealed himself to mankind so that we could know him, and Christian education is important for gaining knowledge about God and his works. While God created us for fellowship with him, our understanding became shallow due to rebellion. God provided salvation through Jesus so we could be restored to fellowship. Christian education plays a vital role in the spiritual growth process as we learn and mature to be like Christ. Schools, churches, and other settings provide education through spiritual disciplines to guide us towards God's purpose. As Christian educators, we should passionately teach the truth about God and his plans so others have a clearer picture of who to imitate. We must be equipped with scriptural knowledge and understanding to effectively facilitate Christian education.

The Christian Philosophy of
Education
Lesson 1
God in His own goodness revealed His identity and character-being to mankind. Although, Christian
education by words was not directly stated in the Scriptures, God in His revelation plan places a high
value on achieving knowledge about God and His works, thus Christian education gained its
importance.

God created us to be in perfect fellowship with Him, but because of our rebellion, our understanding of
God becomes shallow. Graciously, God provided a way of restoring our ruined fellowship with Him
through His Son. Salvation was offered and completed perfectly. By grace through faith, a gift of
salvation was received and enjoyed, but growing and maturing for the purpose of Christlikeness is a
process in which the Holy Spirit plays the greatest part. In this area of Christian life Christian education
plays a vital role. God in His perfect will expected us to learn and not to be stagnant in our growth.
Spiritual disciplines integrated through Christian education are supplemental and yet vital. Churches,
schools, and upbringing set-ups are some of the areas where we can gain these educations in which can
help us direct towards the objective of God for us.

Since the purpose of Christian education is to develop redeemed man in the image of God, it is our goal
as an educator to be passionately decalares all the truth about God and His plans so that other Christians
have a clearer picture of what they are imitating.

Given that we have the platforms to utilize the intake of the scriptures, we should also give
attention to some important factors that will surely enhance the educator and the recipient as well.
One of these is being equipped with the most important tool, the Scripture. Methodology may vary
depending on the given situation and materials. But what’s a great method without deep nourishing
Words from God. That is why a facilitator of Christian education, must have in depth knowledge
and understanding of the Word.

To reflect from all of these, God is being gracious enough to save people and extending the
privilege for the elect to be an educator for the furtherance of the kingdom. Therefore, as a
Christian with these understandings, I should be passionate in learning essential things so thar I can
be a good Christian educator. Walk the talk as life’s testimony is louder than shouting grace.
