INTRODUCTION:
The scope of the documents is to present the controls of methodology adopted by M/s. Lloyd
Insulations (India) Ltd for Erection Work of Structural Members and Roof /Wall sheet.
M/s. HTG Engineering P\-t. Ltd. (hereinafter referred as "Owner / Client") is setting up 2X800MW
Power Project at Godda, Jharkhand M/s- ESE POWERCON PVT LTD (ESEPPL, hereinafter
referred as "Company") will be executing the Erection Work of Structural Members and Roof/Wall
Sheet.
GENERAL PRINCIPLE:
Do not conduct erection without last Erection drawings issued for Erection
Adequately bracing before releasing lifting equipments or temporarily stop working
First braced bay must be completed with rod bracings, eave strut, purlins, girts and flange
bracing as
well as all connect on bolts must be tightened to ensure the stable place for next structures
connections
All connection joints must be completed bolt tightening before releasing lifting equipment
SECONDARY MEMBER / PURLIN ERECTION:
After completion 12 frames of braced bay, all components such as brace rod, flange
brace , etc of this bay must be completed as design, to set up the space stable place for
next frames. Temporary bracing should be applied for this bay during erection for safety.
Eave struts and peak purlins may be installed in intermediate bays between braced bays to
stabilize frames. however, do not start more work than can be completed in a work day to

ensure all structural framing is completed in those bays before leaving the site at the end of
the day
As erection progresses.. each braced bay must be fully completed as outlined in step
before proceeding with the erection of additional bays.
Upon Completion of all secondary framing in the braced bay, plumbing and squaring the
braced bay, installing secondary framing in the end bay, paneling may commence and be
worked in conjunctionwith the completion of the balance of the secondary framing. This
could save time on larger buildings if separate sheeting crews are used
When the building reaches this stage of erection, sheeting should proceed immediately.
The structure without paneling should not be left standing for prolonged periods of time
without taking proper precautions (temporary bracing, blocking etc.) to prevent wind
damage especially to purlins and girts due to excessive vibration they are exposed to in the
unsheeted condition.
ROOF/ WALL SHEET WORK ERECTION SEQUENCE :
Checking the existing structures.
Staging to be done wherever required to start the work.
Lifting of sheet and other accessories to be kept near the working area safely and slightly
inclined to one side for avoid water storage over the material.
Surface cleaning of the panels.
Fixing of roof and cladding sheets & others by using proper size of screw according to the
approved construction drawing.
ROOF/ WALL SHEET WORK ERCTION PROCEDURE:
All scaffolding and other materials intended for staging should be carefully
examined before taking in use.
All staging, should good construction and proper maintained.
While erecting, workmen should wear proper safety items to avoid accident.
While Lifting the materials, precaution to be taken to avoid slippage and falling
down .
Barricade is to be made with safety band at adjacent area of scaffolding.
No Adjustment in staging should be carried out while workmen are on the staging.
Cleaning of panels.

Fixing of sheets should be started from one end of the roof or the bottom line of the
wall.
Fastening the sheets by self drilling & Self tapping type screw using Power driven
screw machine. - Checking the alignment of the panels.
Periodically alignment checking should be done during the fixing of sheets.
Fixing of flashing/ trims as per the drawings.
GENERAL REOUIREMENT OF SAFETY MANAGEMENT:
Company is committed to deliver the services to client in an "incident free injury free"
environment under strict rules of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).
This commitment must be understand and freely accepted by all sub-contractors and sub-
contractor personnel who may be associated with this project in any capacity.
All HSE requirements and method of implementing the same shall be addressed in project
HSE plan. The project HSE plan shall incorporate client's regulations & procedures and
represent the minimum requirements for all sub-contractors performing the project related
work. The company's policy, procedures and regulations shall, in all instances, exceed or
equals those referenced in the plan.
The HSE plan shall be communicated at every level within the organization. Management's
commitment to HSE issues shall be highly visible to the organization.
The systems shall define accountability of achieving HSE goals and objectives at levels of
the organizations.
Ensure demonstrable, active employee involvement in the system.
Include provision of share learning across the organization.
Require periodic reporting to management.
Necessary Measures:
Before the construction of cladding, personnel must know safety and technical work.
Construction personnel should be clearly aware the construction task, construction
requirement and construction attention, they can construct after their sign them name.
Construction persons enter site must be with helmet & Safety shoe. Drinking any alcohol is
strictly prohibited inside the premises of project.
Construction personnel prior to climb up every day, should check the security products and
the safety protection facilities such as scaffolding, Only confirm that there is no danger then
start the next step

work. steel structure construction process, aerial worker must pierced seat belt and
confirmed hanging above the reliable components before carrying out the work.
Use electric welding, using portable electric grinding tool, construction personnel should
wear protective glasses.
Construction of power supply installed by professional electrician, people who isn't
professional electrician is prohibited to install wiring for power supply, workers carry or
transfer electromotive spanner only without carrying power lines.
In the rain, fog and severe weather, it don't allow hoisting assignment Construction
personnel should pay attention to skid, wearing slippers are not allowed in CHP area, when
the winds reach more that 5 in the job site, construction personnel should stop lifting
operations.
On-site installation personnel shall designate personnel to unify command, command
signal should be unified, and the signal is clear, definite division..
Lifting work area irrelevant personnel do not stay or go through, in the arms outstretched
and hanging objects prohibited anyone to stay or go through. When lifting Sheets,
installation personnel must pull rope to set alert around the Frame furnace, extra personnel
shall not enter.
During the construction and installation, the job must be strict executed the one-on-one
safety monitoring system. ensure construction personnel should be safety controlled in
construction process.
Conclusion:
In this procedures mentioned above, the erection work is alone considered. All the
procedures mentioned are tentative. However if any better procedure are met, the same will
be followed to enhance the erection.
