Lacuna of International Ranking Systems
All Ranking exercises are controversial, and no ranking is
absolutely without flaws.
Criticisms mainly due to their differences in structures,
methodologies, criteria or indicators.
Ranking designers – primarily newspapers and magazines
– with no direct responsibility for the higher education
sector
One of the main functions of any university—teaching—is
largely ignored in all of the rankings.
ICT infrastructure and its application missing in most of
rankings
Lacuna of International Ranking Systems
Domination of so called developed countries in almost
all ranking tables
It raises the question of Have and Have Not‘s
Higher academic systems of developing countries as a
whole suffer from ranking tables
International students and faculties as an indicator
disadvantages many developing countries
